Hi, This thread will be for those that fly on Saturday morning on Multiplayer. Note that I have a tutorial on these flights in the Tips Forum: calclassic.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=tips&action=display&thread=262Today we will be departing Hobart, Tasmania, but we didn't really decide where our destination would be. We could head over to New Zealand (sort of a dead end, though), or back up the east coast of Australia, on our way to Tokyo.

Hi again, Don't forget that Kenny changed the password for the TS server this morning, so change your TS Connection dialog.

Hi,
We had a nice time flying Comet 1 and 4's over the ocean.
For the next flight - a change of pace. We will be flying way 'round the south island of New Zealand, to see the spectacular fjords. The flight plan:
NZDN NV (116.80) MO (346) NZMF NZMC CH (115.30) NZCH
Altitude - 5000 ft
It's over 450 NM, so we should fly something nimble but relatively fast - a Convair 240/340/440 will make the run in about 1:40, before we divert for interesting things.
Remember we are starting one hour earlier, now that everyone is on DST. So that's 6pm in England, and 11 am on the West Coast of the USA. I think that's 1800 GMT, but don't quote me on it...
Everyone is welcome; just read the Tips forum post on how to get started.
See you then,

Hi, OK, the slow train just brought me into Christchurch. Where are we going next? I might suggest going to Auckland (428 NM). Here's a suggested flight plan: NZCH CH (115.30) WB (115.60) OR (113.00) AA WP (108.80) NZWP Altitude 18000 ft If you notice the destination is Whenuapai airport, now military only. It was the airport for Auckland back then and the CalClassic AFCAD package removes the modern airport (NZAA). The VOR AA has been removed (i.e. frequency changed to 000.00) by the NZAA airport removal, but it should be accessible via the GPS. Something logical to fly would be a TEAL DC-6 with the new VC (teal_dc6.zip). The AVSIM library seems to be down, but it's at Flightsim and downloads fast. You can get the DC-6 Base Pack from my DC-6 page. If you don't have the new panel and VC you'll also need to download and install the UAL DC-6B Base Pack as well. I suggest the following fltsim section: [fltsim.XX] title=DC-6 Tasman Empire Airways Limited sim=dc6b model=intl panel= sound= texture=TEAL kb_checklists= kb_reference=dc6cb16_ref ui_manufacturer=Douglas ui_type=DC-6 ui_variation=TEAL atc_heavy=0 atc_id=ZK-BGC atc_airline=Tasman atc_flight_number=651 description=The DC-6 was the first pressurized Douglas airliner, and due to the powerful Pratt & Whitney R-2800 engines competed effectively against the Lockheed Constellations. prop_anim_ratio=0.9 atc_parking_types=GATE,RAMP atc_parking_codes= Change the XX to the next number. Don't forget to copy the new VC textures to the texture.teal folder, along with the second set of nacelle texures. The easy way to get the new VC textures (i.e. from the United base pack texture.united folder) is to sort the folder alphabetically, and choose everything from Glass to the end of the list. Copy and paste into the texture.teal folder. Then copy and paste the following nacelle textures the same way: DC6cowl142_t.bmp DC6cowl142_L.bmp DC6cowl232_t.bmp DC6cowl232_L.bmp Let us know if you have any different ideas. Hope this helps,

Hi, Welcome back! We are flying the new Caravelle VIR from Auckland, New Zealand to Nadi, Fiji. No waypoints, full tanks, and at high altitude. It's at flightsim.com - search for Caravelle and it's the Base Pack by AFG. There are two of them - I don't know which one we are supposed to use, but I assume it's the one without the HF antenna. I'm downloading both. I'm planning on flying the default Sterling textures, unless someone comes up with a better one...
