Hello, I am in charge of communication for the "Amicale du Super Constellation" association in Nantes, France, and I am also a Flight Simulator Entusiast ! I have made some repaints of our Super Constellation F-BGNJ from the base textures Manfred Jahn made for FS9. I would like to eventually have your permission to put them on our website for downloading ? While our version is a Super G with short nose and without Tip-tanks, I also wanted to ask you if it might be possible to put on our website a package for download that only contains your 1049vc_s.mdl file with our F-BGNJ textures in it and with a minor updated modification of your readme files to include F-BGNJ update? The Repaint pack will include all the liveries that our Connie weared from 1953 to 2010. Below are the first three liveries I've already made : F-BGNJ with Air France in 1953 and 2010: EC-BEN with Tae in 1967: F-BRAD during Biafra Airlift in 1969 Thank you. Sincerely, Pierre. -------------------------- Pierre "Pappy"Amicale du Super Constellation F-BGNJ Nantes, France superconstellation-nantes.fr

pierre very nice! I notice the sideways nose gear. Make sure you have starliner.gau in your panel folder or this problem will happen! easy fix however.

Hi Pierre, 'cest magnifique These repaints sure do look very nice indeed. I don't think Manfred our team leader in the project would have any objection to posting the L-1049 and your repaints on your site, but I would suggest you contact him directly via e-mail or I can do that for you. I am guessing the screens with the white background are from FSRepaint in which case the tilted nose wheel is normal. Do you have access to the actual airplane to take a few shots of the cockpit for us In particular I was looking for more detailed shots of the FE station Stefan

Hi,
I don't think Manfred would have a problem with it either, as long as proper credit is given. There'll be an bugfix and FDE update available as well, maybe a few weeks. We're currently beta-testing. Might be worth the wait.
By the way, congratulations to your Connie move. Seems like it was quite a job.
Best regards, Volker

Hi Pierre, but I would suggest you contact him directly via e-mail or I can do that for you. I've tried his PM on calclassic and the email given in the readme file in the 1049H package but still no answer. If you can contact him, I would really appreciate while I do not want to put the package for download whitout his autorization. I am guessing the screens with the white background are from FSRepaint in which case the tilted nose wheel is normal. yes exactly, the screens cames from FSrepaint. The nose wheel is ok in FSX. Do you have access to the actual airplane to take a few shots of the cockpit for us In particular I was looking for more detailed shots of the FE station Yes I have access to it. What do you mean with FE Station ? Sorry but maybe I know the word in French, my technical english is poor... Hi, By the way, congratulations to your Connie move. Seems like it was quite a job. Yes, it was quite a big job but we did it and we finally have access to the plane to continue the restoration after two years of fight with our "great" french authorities. Sometimes I wish I could live in your country where it's seems easier to preserve the historical heritage. Best regards. ------------------- Pierre "Pappy"Amicale du Super Constellation F-BGNJ Nantes, France superconstellation-nantes.fr

Hi Pierre, I have e-mailed Manfred and I will let you know when I get an answer from him unless he contacts you directly. The FE station I mentioned is the Flight Engineer station behind the Co-Pilots seat. But we take all the pictures we can get since you can never have too many pictures of a Connie...inside or out. Specifically I was hoping to get a nice clear shot of the Master Prop, Throttle, Supercharger and Mixture lever quadrants. Stefan

Hi Pierre, That's a great website you've got too. Very nicely done. Even some shots of the Flight Engineer's panel that Stefan was after. By the way, do you know this website? aviatechno.free.fr/constellation/constel07b.phpPerhaps you know this guy? Another good Air France site. Bill

Yes I know this guy and his website is a kind of encyclopaedia of AirFrance Constelations and Super Constellation. He has a lot of documents and pictures. ------------------- Pierre "Pappy"Amicale du Super Constellation F-BGNJ Nantes, France superconstellation-nantes.fr

Some pics I have yet (shots by a friend spotter Romain Salerno), from my website, tell me if you want them in High Def, I can send them to you by email if you want : Sincerely, ------------------- Pierre "Pappy"Amicale du Super Constellation F-BGNJ Nantes, France superconstellation-nantes.fr

Hi Pierre, close but not quite. Ideally the shots would be taken without an angle to the panel, this way we might be able to use them as background for the VC graphics and the 2D panels. The one for the Fuel Dump levers is perfect for example. So if you happen to have one shot directly at the levers so that their full travel is visble that would be superb. Pics 1 shows the levers but from an angle and a bit too low But if you don't mind I would indeed like a HighRes Copy anyways. Maybe we can make a French panel version if I have all the switch labels My E-mail is Sunny9850 (at) aol.com Merci Stefan

G'Day All I am humbled by the contribution made by these blokes to the hobby. Pierre's repaints look fantastic, I can hardly wait for the Biafran airlift example. The efforts of Manfred and the team have never been bettered and yet Stefan and Volker etc. are chasing more imformation to allow them to improve the beast and the cost of this to all of us is NOTHING. Most of my posts to the forum have been requests for help and have all been answered promptly so my hat is off to the people who are the real contributers. I have become addicted to repaints and modifications, so keep them coming.
Thanks again to all concerned Trev. (vhbob)
