Let's just say that the release of this wonderful retro scenery is akin to the transformational era of colonialism to independence. Much pent up activity and the burgeoning promise of exploration and expansion. When I see these classic airports it all comes back to life; Pan-Africanism, Nasser, Dams, Suez, Dag Hammerskjold, skinny ties, Panama hats and horn-rimmed glasses.
