This tip can be used to make AI aircraft flyable, to make one flyable aircraft fly like another plane instead, or make a flyable plane into an AI aircraft.
It is written as changing an AI aircraft to a flyable plane, but it will work for all of the above.
Hi,
1. Make copy of the AI plane's folder and rename it. We'll call this the "new plane".
2. Find a flyable aircraft that flies similar to the new plane.
3. Copy the flyable plane's AIR file into the new plane's folder.
4. Rename the new plane's aircraft.cfg file to aircraft_old.cfg.
5. Copy the flyable plane's aircraft.cfg file into the new plane's folder.
6. Copy the fltsim, Contact Points, Views, and Lights sections of the new plane's aircraft_old.cfg file into the copied aircraft.cfg file, replacing those sections.
7. Copy any checklist and ref files from the flyable airplane's folder into the new plane's folder.
8. Edit the sim=, model=, kb_checklist=, and kb_reference= lines in the new plane's aircraft.cfg file so it matches the same lines in the flyable plane's aircraft.cfg file (you can copy and paste).
