I am wondering if for some reason the 1649 tries to look somewhere else but that correct folder .... just don't know why it would.
I would probably remove all instances of the folder one more time and start over at this point. I just can't make sense of this problem because the other Connies work.
I'll send you a PM with my e-mail....please send me the panel.cfg from your L-1649A and from the L-1049 as you have it.

Sorry mate not yet .... maybe this weekend. But no promises. We're in the process of wrapping up the next release of the Starliner at the moment to bring the "oldest" of our Connies to 749/1049 standard.

Hi Stefan: Hope you had a good trip to the motherland...I wouldn't want to interrupt a release of another great Constellation,Hoping I don't run into issues?...
Update: I removed and installed a copy of a previously working L-1640A I had saved to an external HD. Got same results...No safety sounds Only click sound,no ding.
My:
L-1649A Only click sound L-1049G Click and ding L-749 Only click leading me to believe something is obviously wrong in my set up of sounds in my FSX Installation for the Constellations?

Well I'll be ... same here (on FSX), and I am at a total loss to say why. Let's hope Stefan can come up with something. First, let us re-check whether this does or doesn't happen in FS9 (I can't because I haven't got it installed atm). Facts -- The wav file in questions is cabin.wav, and it resides in the SP_1649A subfolder (SP for Soundpack) within the main \Sound folder. It is referenced via Starliner.gau in \panel, and Starliner.gau is identical for all Connies.

Didn't believe this was happening to you as well Manfred? It has worked before in my sys. Both in Vista and XP SP3.For the 1649A and the 749's But not in win7. Regardless...It works in the 1049G I have SP1649 folder in FSX\Sound folder and in the planes folder. Maybe there is a conflict with the .cfg files. You said before to alias it to the "G" and sent me a note how to...That didn't work though.
In my L-1649A the sound .cfg of the sound folder contains 2 sound notepad files. One with a folder SP_L1649A The other one is the Squiking Brakes Then I have Diegos' 3350.wav files...In there there are two sound Notepad files: One called sound and the other called sound.cfg
The sound is built Thursday,May 15.2008 sound studio 7716 The second one Sound.cfg has the alias to the L1049G\sound I just attempted to move the sound folder out and only leave the one called sound.cfg.Opened the sim and the Starliner...No sound!...Engine sounds The click of the safety was still present.I must admit I'm wildguessing here. But someone as to experiment ;D
As Stefan notes on page 2 of the topic if one moved the panel folder of the 1049G to the L-1649A the chime sound chimes; I also mention that I've compared both panel .cfg's and the only difference is the location of the cabin sound in the gauges list, because the L-1049G has the Oxy gauge.

No problems with any version with or without updates in FS9. So it is a FSX thing....and by the looks of it not for everyone.
I still think it is a question of playing two wav files more or less simultaneously. If the sequence gets interrupted by another event in FS the second sound does not play.................I guess wildly.
Can't see any differences in the files you sent me that might explain what is going on.

Hi Stefan: I also checked the files before I sent them to you...To see and compare if there was anything relevant. With my knowledge I couldn't find anything different apart from the part, which I already mentioned with the Oxy gauge. Strange I have had it working in FSX in Vista and XP SP3; I cannot believe it's a FSX thing or win7? Because it works on the L-1049G...Now my 749's are quite as well? Now with the new FDE Update...Which I'm dying to try...I'm frustrated that theplane is not complete,at least for me with out the safety sounds...? Attempted to install the FDE update last night. I don't think I got it all right...Couldn't see anything new of the described gauges in the readme. Noticed though that on TOR. speed is much slower but climb is much more realistic. I was hoping that maybe this would help my sound issue...It didn't. It doesn't have any relevnacy. I was just hoping. Mafred do you still have the issue?

Helo Stefan: Since your last reply regarding this issue Aug.28 2010...I've been fiddleng with the sound folders to see if I can get the dings...Now I only have them on the 1040 G Lost them as well on the 749'S For some strange reason? I realized last night I didn't have the SP1649 folder in my L1649A as I do in the 1049G,where they work. So I copied the folder exactly asit was in the 1049G over to the L1649A and in the same order.... Still no dings...?

I am sorry mate, but I can't reproduce it and I really don't have anything else to offer. If Manfred did not have the problem in FSX I would say you still have one file or another in a duplicate or incorrect position that causes the hitch. But since I can't browse through your PC there is no way for me to check that or sort it for you.
Just say "bing" when you flip the switches and make your PA announcement.

Hello Stefan: Thanks for your reply... As Manfred writes on his post Aug.27th 2010 He also has the problem: Well I'll be ... same here (on FSX), and I am at a total loss to say why. So it must be a FSX thing? It's still strange the 1049 can reproduce th sound, but the 747'S and 1649A cannot. Since we have hit a wall with this one I'll leave it as is. And fallow your suggestion...How do yoou say "Bing" with a sexy soothing voice...?

I will leave that to your imagination Bernardo. I know that Manfred mentioned having this problem in FSX. But for what ever reason I do not. So I can only look at what you have sent and described and while I still think you have a few folders "extra" even when I do that on my FS install the sounds still work on all of them for me.
For example I only have a single SP_L1649A folder containing all the wav specific to the Connie series in the main FS sound folder. You seem to have copied that folder multiple times into each aircrafts folder. Since the panel.cfg only calls it up from the designated folder it doesn't matter if you have it a few extra times.
I can only figure that FSX in your installation and in Manfred's does something slightly different than on mine. The what ...however I have no idea.
Cheers Stefan
