Hi there. I think i'm not the only one in the community , looking for a classic WX Radar gauge hehe ; I've used to use the infamous Reality XP WX500 gauge, but a few months ago I upgraded my PC from Win XP & a 32 bit system, to Win 7 & 64 bit; but still going with my loyal FS9 Apparently my old RXP WX500 doesn't work anymore, besides the fact of the not so real look of it in a 50's era panel... Is there a functional radar gauge? (maybe like the Warning Star one) Greetings!!

Personally, I use the rdrwdw.zip, from flightsim.com, by Eric Marciano, which I "pinched" from Rick Piper's Viscount series. I predominantly use it in the Civvy Constellation series and DC-6/7 series - although I accidentally overwrote my radar modification when I installed the newest update of the Six/Seven series a couple of weeks ago, so I'll need to sort that out one of these days.
The Gauge has 3 different modes, a "full 360° sweep", a "front 90° sweep", and a 2-dimensional mode, which displays the attitude of the target compared to yours (target above or below your altitude, or left or right of your course), as well as an adjustable range.
It requires a bit of tinkering in the panel.cfg, though.

Hi Okami,
sounds like you use AI traffic radar and he was asking about weather radar.
Last time I looked, I found only a payware weather radar available for FS9. Else I would have tried to integrate a weather mode into the Warning Star radar.
Best regards, Volker

" No Search Results No Files matched your search criteria"
lol, What's what i'm supposed to look for in Flightsim?
Even tried to fit HJG's WXR, but it flags "UN SERVICEABLE" ....

Hi,
I once found a working weather radar in one of the russian planes, with a pretty good representation of both weather and terrain, but it was a compiled gauge and wasn't any starting point for further developement, either, particularly since it was labelled in Kyrillic.
Best regards, Volker

This is an old thread but I might as well add my question to it rather than start a new one. Reality XP Weather Radar may not have a classic look, but it is the only weather radar available for FS9 as far as I know. In the days when I used Windows XP it worked, now I can't get it to. Has anybody managed to get it working in Windows 7, 8 or 10 please? I use Windows 8.1 64 bit.

If you can live with the fact that getting actual cloudscape data from default weather is impossible and have FSX and up: sites.google.com/site/fsxstuffbybk/gauges/vswxrDepicts a generic, moving cloudscape that changes in intensity in five stages based on deviation from ISA ambient pressure.
