OK, it's done, in some days, Prepar3D 2.0 will be available
Sadly my computer are not DirectX11 enable. So i can't use it for the moment. The graphics card, it's to old, until now i have not motivation to buy a new one because FS can not really use it, now i got a reason, i will see...
The license it's almost the same that before, and the prices also (for the civil version)
You can see the rest on Prepar3D site.
Best regards
Alejandro
PS: If someone buy it, and use it, please share feeback
Thanks.

Hi. Not trying to troll the post...but I saw something that called my attention on the link above. I barely know about Prepar3D, I only know that Lockheed Martin bought Microsoft´s FSX licence-rights and developed a product that is more professional or real training oriented. OK, what called my attention here is that they mark with an X the option called "Personal Consumer Entertainment" (not supported, I assume).....I´m just curious: What is the exact definition Prepare3D has of that term? how do they have control over the "Personal Consumer Entertainment"? .....do they monitor the usage or something like that? Sorry..too many questions; again, not trying to troll....it´s just the term that called my attention. All the best!

Hola! is a question already asked on the net, and on this forum the best answer i can give you is: "they can't legally sell it like a game because it's they do that they will got problems with Microsoft, and the main focus for them is to sell it as a true simulator, not a game, because it's ok, because P3D (and in some ways FSX and FS9) are a true simulators not games) They remove all "game thing" of the interface, they put only pro model of aircraft, they improve pilot log book and all the tools to "learn to fly", and they put a lot of good planes (modern BUT ALSO old ones) What is not really a problem for me, most of simulators users, we use the simulator as a simulator, not a game, or we develope scenery of planes. Maybe it's a good way to see the thing, P3D is not a game, i am agree (FSX and FS9 in the way most of us use it, is not either) What is "troll" ? That's it's the way i see this thing The day i will can pay me some true plane lessons, i think all thing i learn flying on FS will help me... and one day i will do it . But i never will fly on a Connie over 1960 airports, that it's gone, it's for this reason simulator is cool also.

Thanks Alejandro. well, it´s kind of confusing but you gave the main idea...I just looked on google and found a similar question on another forum...I think it´s understood that their primary intention is a serious flight simulator intended for real flight training...eventhough we all know it´s just an aid. and you´re right, I think most of us use FS9 and FSX for similar purposes, but they also allow us from time to time to relax and "play" a little with planes or do things that are totally out of reality.....a matter of perspective. Now I see why they include airplanes from IRIS, Carenado, etc....real dynamics, procedures, etc Thanks for clarifying. --------------------------- PS... a "troll" (on most forums)....is known as any forum member who posts or asks something without sense or just to bother other members....and create controversy or conflict between them..... Regards!

Well, so much has been said about what is 'entertainment' & what is 'training' - Microsoft licensed the 'professional/commercial' version of Flight Simulation X - known as 'ESP' to Lockheed Martin. They have now developed it to version 2.0. So it is not for personal entertainment/game playing.. It is for training, which is what we ALL use it for. Therefore, in my opinion, the Academic version would be the version to get.Unless you have $2300.00 spare. lol..
Thinking about it.... we debating/chatting about a program that was originally created in a GAMING studio, licensed to Lockheed who has modified/upgraded/re-developed it & probably will be used by guys in darkened rooms, gazing at monitors (maybe 2x), clutching a plastic gaming joystick with a twist rudder, & debating whats a game or a simulator.. lol..
Lets just have fun with flying..
But, lets just wait & see what the opinions are once it has been released, in a few days time.

I am 100% agree with you wobbie, you express my idea better than me . PS: P3D will be also a good reason, for those who are thinking about upgrade there computers. DirectX11, it's a good news, but also a bad new... mi laptop graphic card, can run DirectX11, so i think i will give a try on it. For my main computer, i must wait an upgrade

I've an i5 laptop. Not sure if DX10 or 11. I'm not sure where to find out. In any case, I'll make a plan to upgrade. Having said that.. I still have so much fun with my 2nd install of FS9 called "Golden Wings". It is an 'old' version with scenery & aircraft from the 1920's, 1930's. I like the old low & slows.

Hi,
In several forums you might see some preview screenshots of Prepare3D V2. It looks fantastic, no doubt. But be aware that most of these configurations have been revamped with addons like ORBX, FTX, and in one case with New York X. No wonder getting such results. I could test a beta version - there are worlds lying inbetween, at least what graphic concerns. So rise your budget!
Cheers, Bernard

that you say was/is true for all flavors of FS always
P3D 2.0 default look is better than FSX / P3D 1.4 default look is better than FS2004/FS2002 default look is better than FS2000 default look is better than FS98 default look is better than FS95 default look....
each time its better to update the computer also to enjoy at max
each time there are add ons to improve the look of the sim (freeware & payware )
that not bother me it s life...

Hi Alejandro,
You are right - MSFS did an icredible jump since FS4 - there is no question about that, and we all enjoy it. But I really have difficulty to invest almost US$200 for a product which didn't progress graphically. Here a short comparison:
FS9
FSX (with REX)
Prepar3D
Prepar3D V2 (beta)
Sorry, but for me all shots look almost the same. Besides some landscape corrections I wouldn't call that a real improvement. P3D should essentially be compared with FSX, but I included FS9 as well. Surprise: Ellis Island didn't changed since 10 years!
Cheers, Bernard

Hi Bernard
its not the good way to test the visual improvement of P3D v 2.0
and we must wait to release version to really test
for me the improvement are there it s enough to read the description on p3d site
they made a new engine that use the gpu more tha the cpu
better shaders better resolution on textures better planning learning tools far better default aircrafts
better shadows, fog, etc
better flight model
a whole new world begin
and when the first p3d 2.0 will arrive that will be great
even if my actual desk computer not support yet ( i must update graphic card for direct11 )
its not usefull to talk about the price its not important
sellers decide a price customer buy or not
its business
i talk about technology here
fsx was very expensive for me but i bought because it s a software that remains used for more than a decade i don t know a lot of soft like that...
and i not have the posibility to pay 8 euros per month if i want
even at 200 euros its not real expensive it about 30 minutes of real flight lesson at Lyon Bron Airport
but we must add hardware and so on
for this reason its not important the price here
but if you not like it its ok i can understand
i not like x plane for example...
but we can t denied that visually and internally P3d v 2.0 its a progress
( and sadly the only new civil simulator still on development because microsoft stopped FS11)
so for me P3d its Fs11...
cheers
