With Tom's always patient help and encouragement, I'm getting close to finishing...
Miami 1962
...estimated release late Summer 2014. After that, I have...
Florida 1962 Series
...including Orlando/McCoy AFB, Tampa, St. Pete (terminal update to my previous release), Ft. Lauderdale, Sarasota, Melbourne, Vero Beach, and a few others (they'll likely be released individually). Beyond that, I have a pile of airports started, but none too far along, from Alaska to Indiana and many in between. No details or dates on those.

After I finish helping Al with KMIA, Mike and I hope to return to CA59/62 and finish that project that has been a very long one. After that I'll be retired, and I really haven't decided what I'll do next.

I'm getting back to all CONUS SAC bases and AI files as a long term project, KBNA still under research (Possibly all of middle Tennessee) and will probably do the northwest Florida Panhandle in the future.

Since this is gathering of extremely talented scenery designers and programmers, I would like to let all of you know that FSX is lacking an interesting airport.
It is PANT Annette Island Airport that was heavily used by DC-4s, DC-6s, DC-7S, and yes 707s by many airlines in 1960s and 1970s!! It was one of popular airports in Alaska during that era for tourism.
In FSX, there are no taxiways, gates, terminals, and hangers for this airport.
Thank to anyone for consideration in designing the airport scenery for PANT Annette Island Airport for FSX use.
Regards,
Aharon

I would assume that it is part of Al Courtney's planned Alaska scenery for FS9, but I have not heard of one for FSX.

Tom is correct. I'm close to finished with Annette Island and Juneau, and have data for Cordova. The current owner of the old hangar and other facilities at Yakutat has also been very kind in sending me photos and diagrams of that airport's airline facilities in our Classic time period. When I'm done, you'll be able to fly the entire PNA route from Seattle to Anchorage. But this will all be for FS9. (And the release date could be considered extremely flexible...like a super jumbo bungee cord...)

Thanks Tom and Acourt for replies. Let's hope somebody will come forward and make FSX version of PANT Annette airport scenery!!!
Acourt, is that you same guy from HJG??? Your screenname looks familiar to me.
Also, it is not uncommon for FS2004 (FS9) sceneries to work well in FSX as they did in my FSX without SP1 and SP2 but but I am not sure if FS2004 sceneries would work well in my FSX with SP1 and SP2. I tried freeware Caribbean Seaplanes sceneries in my FSX with SP1 and SP2 and it works well but with few black buildings.
ARRGGHHHHH

Aharon

I have vintage mid to late 1950s charts for most Alaskan airports if these can be of help. If so, please let me know and I'll scan them and either email them direct to you or upload them to my Flickr page.

I have FSX SP2 and my FS9 sceneries work OK, except for the transparency problem (can be fixed with ModelConverterX) and the terrain polygons (can use ADEX or SBuilderX to fix those). Sometimes they also have to modified for the new elevations and coastlines, etc.

Hi,
No, not black. Any transparent parts (usually signs or girders) will block the view of any objects behind it. I haven't seen any black buildings.
