Back with another problem. The older I get it seems the problems increase along with my age. My old Dell XPS 600 gave up the ghost after many years of faithful service. I bought a new gaming computer Cybertron PC and it is really something. Has 32GB RAM. But I have not been able to install Flight Simulator FSX. It seems to load okay but it doesn't show up anyplace where I can actually start it and do some flying. I am using Windows 7 Professional which is a 64 bit system instead of the old 32. I wonder if that is the problem. Any help appreciated.

I have FSX installed on System 7 64 bit and have no problems. Make sure you do NOT install it into the default location - install into a separate FS folder, outside of ANY Program Files folder.
Hope this helps,

Tom, that may be my problem. I went to my C:/drive and made a new folder that I labeled FSX under Program files (x86). From your advice I think I should have just left it at C:/FSX for the new folder. I'll give that a try.

Hi,
I use C:\FS\FSX, and install all of my other FS programs into the FS folder as well.

Hi, I use C:\FS\FSX, and install all of my other FS programs into the FS folder as well. Tom, thanks. That worked for me also. Had no trouble at all installing and running FSX. I had forgotten you can't put the program into the standard program files. I have not abandoned FS9 and will still be running that as my main sim but A2A has come out with some pretty good stuff for FSX. Jesse

Hi, I use C:\FS\FSX, and install all of my other FS programs into the FS folder as well. Install FSX into its own directory. Not the program files default directory. Also make sure to check under compatibility to select "run as administrator". Otherwise, should run just fine. Eric Enjoy the new machine Jesse!!

I run FSX fine as well, recently completed a full reinstall... Windows 7 64bit FS each have their own paritions (E for FSX, F for FS9)... on an SSD (one of 2 in my system... along with 2 traditional 2TB "storage drives". I run both as admin, and set to disable advanced visual themes. Both run "fine" (except for some visual artifacts due to my video drivers, but I'm working on tweaking those settings) except for Tabbing out of FSX, I have to use Task manager "Switch to" instead of tabbing back to it.
