Hi,
Some days ago I got a 1960 issue of ESSO Air World with an interesting article about Ice Patrol, then based at NAS Argentia, Labrador. I tried to create a small traffic according those informations. As this airport isn't represented by default, I adapted a FSX Afcad and added some few objects. Here what the small AI traffic look like:
NAS Argentia
A Grumman HU-16 Albatross of US Coast Guard took off from NAS Argentia
A Douglas R5D USCG on observation flight off Cape Bonavista, Labrador
The Grumman at the same place supposed to bomb the iceberg
BTW, meanwhile I adapted a FSX Afcad for NAS Glenview, IL too. Cheers, Bernard

nice shots Bernard!!... Cgold, the CC AI Traffic has an AI albatross included, the 1961 high visibility textures can be found on a package at flightsim called "Albatross 2.0 Coast Guard Liveries" (hu16_cg.zip).....it's just matter of manually add the texture & livery to the AI albatross........I think it's what bernard did. BTW, .....The Texas 1962 package contains a lot of optional repaints and flightplans, included on those you'll also find USCG textures to represent the HH-52 seaguard, using the CC AI heli Sikorsky S-62,........although it went into service with the USCG by 1963, it's a nice addition with the same livery as the Albatross and R5D-4.

Juan, you're right. I used exactly this one, a flyable model in fact. Noel Sivertson's military ai traffic package - still going strong, BTW! - included the Albatross shown below. It has the same texture structures as the one used with CalClassic traffic, and therefore is more framerate firendly. I tried to erase the "Brooklyn" inscription on the tail, but than the whole textures disappear. So I used this AI with CGAS Brooklyn only.
The R5D USCG is a Jens B. Kristensen repaint for his C-54B.

Hi,
Our AI Albatross is set up to land on water, that's why it's sitting on its belly on dry land. It uses the same Greg Pepper model, so you can use the plane in hu16_cg.zip for the land based flights. Use ours for water based flights. Note that you cannot mix the flights - no land to water (or the reverse) is possible in FS without some visual glitches at one end.

Noel Sivertson is member of CalClassic Forum, and he created a military AI traffic in 2009. Contact him - maybe he still have some CD left. Anyway, he did a great package!

Hi,
Noel doesn't come by anymore, and he doesn't have more CD's. Sorry.
BTW, that package dropped my frame rate to 7 in the SF bay area...
