In 1953 KLM's DC-6A PH-TGA (Dr. Ir. M.H. Damme) took part in the London-Christchurch Air Race and by setting a time of 49 hours 57 minutes from London to New Zealand it won the handicap race. This flight is depicted in the movie "Bride Flight". For this movie the Air Atlantique DC-6A G-APSA was painted in the colors of the former PH-TGA (which does not exist anymore). For instance, take a look at www.youtube.com/watch?v=BiG-u5NQMiQ A beautiful and accurate repaint of the Air Atlantique DC-6A G-APSA wearing the KLM livery was made by Hans U. Hermann (Virtual Birds Factory). Since the real G-APSA repaint was different from the original PH-TGA in quite a few areas (e.g. the window layout, position of text and logo's), I decided to create a repaint of the PH-TGA, using all photo's of the original plane I could find on the internet. I used Hans Hermann's repaint to start from. A lot of changes were made to the fuselage repaint. I meticulously positioned all doors including cargo doors, such that they coincided with the latest FS9 model by Greg Pepper and Tom Gibson for the DC-6A-CB16. Windows were repositioned or removed in order to resemble the real PH-TGA. Logo's were improved, resized and repositioned. Wings largely remained unchanged. The result can be seen below. For more information on the KLM PH-TGA take a look at: www.edcoatescollection.com/ac5/ROW%20Europe/PH-TGA.htmlcommons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Douglas_DC-6A_PH-TGA_KLM_LAP_10.10.53_edited-2.jpgwww.filatelieonline.com/philatelist/heeftu.htmflickrhivemind.net/Tags/phtga/InterestingI would like to express my big thanks to Greg Pepper, Tom Gibson, Jens Kristensen (VC) and FSAviator (FD) for this wonderful FS plane, and Hans U. Hermann for his wonderful repaint of the G-APSA in KLM livery. Have fun. Henri

Very nice. Minor point - back then, it probably used CB-17 engines.
Thanks,

Hi Tom,
Thanks. I will put the livery on the DC-6A-CB17, hoping the alignment of the doors remains the same.
Best wishes,
Henri

The models are identical, so no problem.

Hi Bryan, Of course. I did not upload it, since it is heavily based on the creation of somebody else. I am more than happy to send just the modified files. Check your private e-mail on this site Kind regards, Henri
