hiya, for those of you who have 70s, 80s, and 90s traffic do you guys have the appropriate sceneries and AFCADS to accomodate your traffic? if so, where can i find it? I'm slowly getting 70s, 80s, and 90s AI traffic on my sim, but it's a very slow process. I already have the BGL files for the classic traffic, but downloading the AI planes and all the repaints is a PAIN.

Indeed, it's alsmost mission impossible. You can count yourself lucky if you find at least some flyable models to be used as AI. Once I tried to complete the 1966 traffic of Retro AI Traffic Group. But even that is extremely laborious or worse. My Traffic 2006, (meanwhile freeware) had AI models for different era. Unfortunatly the quality of MT generally isn't by far comparable with other AI packages.

So if it's as easy as you say, within a week it should be done. How many weeks and months other members invested to create things? So what?

Well, a number of us have been working on the classic AI traffic for over 5 years of solid effort, so it can take a while.

I always want for my FSX era 1980 or 1990 AI traffic of Eastern, TWA, and Pan Am.

Well, a number of us have been working on the classic AI traffic for over 5 years of solid effort, so it can take a while. Doing a traffic within one week was ment by using complete traffic files of Retro AI Traffic Group. But besides the 60's all others are quite poor regarding the number of airlines involved. Maybe a mix could be done with acceptable AI and flightplans of My Traffic 2006. Anyway, special wishes ask for special efforts! Bernard

I mean the tedious process of downloading the AI planes and repaints one by one takes quite a while

Running RetroAI 1980s traffic here. Took me several months to get it all installed and sorted out. Start with the big airlines and work your way down from there. I've done a few 1980s AFCAD files for FS9 and a few more for FSX. retroai.proboards.com/thread/3096/retro-afcads-afx-files-1980sAccuracy isn't all too high as the AI flightplans are from all over the decade and as there's a distinct lack of reference material. I have charts for a few airports, but most were done with the help of old aerial photos from Historicaerials and terminal diagrams from Departedflights. Generally, most of the changes are in the runway or taxiway department. Terminals usually require a completely new model, but I simply lack the motivation for that.

FSX scenery objects can be changed to FS9 format using ModelConverterX. Entire scenery libraries can be converted at one time. I hear a small tool from Jon can remove FSX ADE features so it will load into ADE9. I don't know how to do that if you only have the ADE BGL file, though. Never tried it.
Hope this helps,
