Well, was a process, for me, to find, the good mix, beetween, what i want to do as "user", and what i want to do as "fs scenery freeware designer"
The true, is that as a user, i can't ignore the GREAT HUGE VINTAGE WORLD, that we have here at CalClassic, and others great freeware works made by other people, and sites (as HJG, Bill Lyon, Ford Projet, DM, etcetera)
With hard work, i can make work, some of this material, on FSX, but convert all, is an imposible task, and It's really necessary?
So, i take a decision today:
1) I will install a fresh copy of FS91, and i will reinstall all the scenery, ai, librarys, aircrafts, that i already know, and love to use and fly. from calclassic, and from the others sites.
And as a user, i will enjoy, all new things that people of calclassic and other vintage site, will make it.
As a user, also, i will enjoy my aircrafts and scenerys on FSX, i bought so many, vintage all except ORBX England and EGTR. (made for a fs designer i admire a lot Russ White), and so many great aircrafts freeware, and scenery made it for FSX.
2) As a freeware scenery developer, my last work for FS91, will be "Argentina Ezeiza SAEZ 1961", that we are making with Harry, now is in pause for a while, because we work heavy on FSX Rhone Alpes 1960, but Ezeiza will be finish next year.
After this work, all others things, i will do as scenery designer, will be done for FSX only (with the hope that will be compatible, with new version of P3D in future years).
I can't continue to make scenerys for FS91, and feel me right with myself, because i know that, to convert after to FSX, (i realize it with Bordeaux), it's not an easy task, and because, if i work for FS91 and not for FSX, i am limited with the thing we can make in FSX, and this things.
I know, that a lot of people, in 2015, not want to move to FSX or P3D, and i can understand some of the arguments, some others not. My problem, is that i evaluate, all as a "freeware scenery designer", not as an user.
Best regards for all
Alejandro

I've always found that with a little creative talent, an FS9 scenery (today at least) can easily be made so that it works well enough to use in FSX, and even barring that it wouldn't take a huge mountain of work on my end to make an FSX compatible version (most of the issues tend to lay in the AFCAD from what I've heard with my sceneries). Then again, the issues and experiences of everyone is and will be different.

Hi,
I have the problem to convert scenery, I have designed for FSX, to FS9.
Because ADEX is offering me a whole toolset for the airport layout, landclasses and object placement. All in one!
Even more, FSX comes with an hole bunch of object libraries as standard objects, which I normaly have to create too.
Cheers Bernie

Hi, I have the problem to convert scenery, I have designed for FSX, to FS9. Because ADEX is offering me a whole toolset for the airport layout, landclasses and object placement. All in one! Even more, FSX comes with an hole bunch of object libraries as standard objects, which I normaly have to create too. Cheers Bernie For classic airports scenery, this is true. The only thing, if we design on FS91 and after we convert to FSX, is that we can't use the extra features of SDK FSX to create, but if in the case of aircraft, all the extra features, are really an improvement, and could add a lot of realism to models if they are well used, in building models, this is less true, because, normally we not use a lot of this features. For huge airports scenery (as your wonderfull Idelwid), it's not smart to make it for FSX, because be got 10 frames... even on high end computers, in FS91, we can achieve, enough frames, even with a lot of ai traffic. But for "whole area classic scenerys", as i'm working right now. Whole area, that's mean - Backdated photoreal ground for a big area (including, airports and citys) - Backdated autogen for this photoreal ground - Backdated citys, and landmarks - Backdated airports For this kind of project, work for FS91, it's not a good choice, because we are really limited, in photoreal textures, in autogen, etc. That is the main reason for me, to work on FSX, because i like to make "whole area classic scenery", and not just airports. But, i am 1% of CC developers, i think, almost all others, prefer to work only on airports, so, it's true that if we work on FS91 or on FSX, it's not big deal, we can convert after to the other simulator, with not a lot of work. Cheers

You can use ADE with FS9 as well. Jon has a small utility that will convert FSX ADE files to FS9 (removing things like vehicle paths and terrain), and then you can load it into ADE9. If you do not have FS9, Jon can tell you how to get ADE9 to open on your computer, on the ADE forum.
