Thanks!
This work for AI and flyable aircrafts?

While the tutorial is designed for flyable aircraft, it can also be used with AI aircraft. The only real change is dealing with each LOD model, which increases the work (unless you stick to one or two LOD models). Merging the props has an added requirement - that you set the desired LOD model value in the Merge box before doing the merge.

And that said, I have found many aircraft where I cannot find a way to get the props merged without ruining the animations. The DC-7C is an example.

Hi,
Since I've been working on a few conversions (DC-7C and now CV-340), I have developed a procedure order that is much more likely to yield a plane with intact animations, a problem in the past. I have updated the Tutorial to reflect this new order. It's worked so far for 4 MDL files I have converted. Hope it gives you better results too.
PS. I still get the ruined animations and displaced parts after many Exports, but one or two Export Object and then Import again cycles has fixed it so far. I do this often during the conversion process.
Same link.
Hope this helps,

Hi again,
I have updated my tutorial so the landing and taxi light splashes now display in P3D. If you installed the extra modeldef definitions earlier, you must update them. See the Tutorial for details.
