75 years ago... who would have thought that so many DC-3/C-47/C-53's would still be flying?

75 years ago... who would have thought that so many DC-3/C-47/C-53's would still be flying? Agreed!!! Although I am really surprised that Buffalo Airways was NOT participating in that event considering the fact that Buffalo Airway is WORLD'S LARGEST USER of DC-3s/C-47s at this moment. Regards, Aharon

Lovely footage, thanks for posting Aharon. I will have my try at Wiesbaden on Monday, where most of these are expected to be then. That will be the start of activities to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Berlin Airlift, ending one week later indeed in Berlin.
Buffalo Airways at the moment have seven DC-3s/C-47s registered to them in the Canadian civil register. AFAIK two of these are parts suppliers and not flyable and one recently made a forced landing outside Hay River airport. That likely leaves them with a minimum of aircraft to keep up operations - take maintenance in consideration as well. Additionally, these kind people have to earn their money with their planes, and taking part in the festivities in Europe costs a lot of money. That probably explains why they're not (t)here.
