Hi all,
Just to let you know that Mike Stevens and I have released an AI Traffic/Aircraft update today.
It features updated textures on every single Viscount livery from Mike Stevens, and includes a new shorter Viscount 700 model from me.
There are now a total of 90 liveries. The *new* Viscount liveries include:
Viscount 700: Austrian Ansett ANA Ansett ANA 1962 Butler Air Transport 1957 BWIA 1957 Central African 1959 Fred Olsen 1957 Hunting Clan 1959 Iran Air 1959 Malayan 1962 Middle East 1959 Philippine 1959 Starways TAA 1957 TAA 1959 Transair (UK) United Arab
Viscount 800: Ansett ANA 1962 TAA 1959 TAA 1962 VASP 1962
We improved the traffic and liveries of many airlines in the Middle East and South America. New South African 1962 liveries are also included.
There are also little improvements here and there, like the Island Airlines Ford Trimotor operations over Lake Erie.
Enjoy,

After painting these 90 aircraft from PSP layers for this project, my fingers have had it. The research and photo collecting was very tiring. The reason for this is before, every Viscount was based upon an old 800 series model. Many of them had old FS98 textures. A good bit of those textures were wrong, some - completely wrong in every possible way. I started by making paint kit layer files for the new 800 series Viscounts, and then for our brand new 700 series Viscounts. Yes, that's right. They are now two different sizes as per the actual aircraft. These 90 aircraft are not just "touched up". They are new, all new aircraft from the spinning prop textures to the correct window and door placements. They are now on par with the Britannia and Electra textures. I hope you enjoy them. Thanks to Tom for creating the new 700 series Viscounts. Mike

Hi, I apologize, but the traffic files did not include all the new Viscounts. I have fixed that problem and updated the Traffic file (File #9). Just download and install that again if you care.

Tom I am feeling a bit dense but I have to download all the various packages which the AI Page indicates have been updated, not a single update package? Not that I mind, just not sure.

Maybe I have missed the obvious too but I have downloaded all the ones that say they have been updated and find the new 700 and 800 models as aivisc_HQ_700 and aivisc_HQ_800 but no liveries?

Hi,
Yes, to get the new AI aircraft you have to download the zip files (in the File #1 to 8 group) that have been updated. To get the new planes flying you have to download File #9, the AI traffic files. To get the AI traffic landing at the OSDI replacement airport (AFCAD only) you have to download File #10.
The new Viscounts are all in the aivisc folder, not the HQ folders.

PS. Note that the search for the missing Viscounts also turned up some other AI aircraft that are in the aircraft zips but not currently flying. I am working on that issue and will have another File #9 update soon, if you want to wait.

Hi,
I finished updating the traffic files. For those who are curious, I coded two new (i.e. more accurate) flight plans:
El Al 1959 (was using 1958) Cathay Pacific 1959 (was using 1957)
The planes I added below either got switched from a less accurate plane, or I coded some charter routes for it.
They are:
AI B170 Dan-Air AI C-46 LACSA Cargo AI C-46 TRANSA Cargo AI C-46 TRANSA 1962 Cargo AI CV-240 Flugdienst AI CV-440 Condor AI DC-3 Air Algerie AI DC-3 British United AI DC-3 Cathay Pacific AI DC-3 Pacific Western 1962 AI DC-4 Air Algerie AI DC-4 Independent AI DC-4 Pacific Western AI DC-6 American Airlines 1957 AI DC-6B American Airlines 1957 AI DC-7C El Al AI DC-8-52 JAL AI L-188 Cathay Pacific AI Viscount 700 Alitalia 1962 AI Viscount 700 BWIA 1957 AI Viscount 700 Transair/BEA AI Viscount 760 Malayan 1962 AI Viscount 800 Aer Lingus 1957 AI Viscount Middle East 1959 AI Viscount Philippine 1959 AI Viscount Starways AI Viscount United Arab AI Viscount VASP 1962
(There are more new Viscounts in the package, these were just the ones I forgot to add the first time around).
Enjoy,
