First off, Happy 4th of July!!
Now, I am currently flying the JBK DC-4 from KELP to KLAX, and have noticed that the engines are draining fuel from the Left Aux tank first (which is nearly depleted as I write this) while the main tanks are untouched, and the Right Aux is beginning to be used. Is this normal, or should all four tanks be drained simultaneously? I looked in the aircraft.cfg and it is written with 1 fuel tank selector. I remember the CV-240 had the same entry and the engines drained one tank before the other, giving the aircraft a definite unbalance after a while. On that aircraft I changed the no. of tank selectors to 2 and both tanks drained at the same rate. Now, would changing the DC-4's entry to '4' give the same result, and all tanks drain at the same time?
Once I get closer to LAX and take the think off autopilot, I do not want to have to wrestle with a tendency to bank to the heavier side while making a landing....

Hi,
On my machine the CV-240 drains from both tanks equally.
You could certainly give it a try and see if that works. My DCs have 4 tank selectors.
Another thing to try is to load the default Flight and then see how the tanks drain. It might be something left over from your previous flights.

I will give that a try, changing the tank selector and see what happens. My default flight is set up with the FSX Howard 500, but I may also change that to a default A/C, if this issue arises again... Thanks, Tom.
Update: changed to 4 tank selector, drained from the Aux tanks first, equally... flight ended before the main tanks were touched. So that's good, eliminated the potential unbalance issue. I can work with that.
