1. KLM Timetable for June 6 to October 31, 1961. This flight takes place on September 11, 1961 at 10:30 a.m.
2. Flight plan filed, performing cockpit checks as we load passengers. Engines 3 and 4 have been started.

4. Ground control instructs us to taxi to runway 16 for departure and we are on our way.
5. We are airborne and packing away the gear.
6. Turning on course for Amsterdam with Lake Zurich below us.
7. The north end of the lake and the Alps are off to our left as we climb through 5,000 feet.
8. Having passed over the southeastern tip of Germany we are cruising at 18,000 feet with the City of Strasbourg and the Rhine River Below.
9. Over Germany again we are northeast of Saarbrucken and see the Saar River off our right wing.
10. About 5 nm from the Luxembourg border we pass over the City of Trier on the banks of the Mosel River. It is considered to be one of the oldest cities in Germany.
11. A few miles from Trier the flight engineer gives us a rundown of the state of the engines and other critical systems.
12. Cruising over the far eastern part of Belgium near the town of Butgenbach.
13. Over Germany again we are passing over the City of Aachen.
14. Beginning our initial descent near Eindhoven we are instructed to turn north.
15. We are descending through 14,000 feet about 10 nm southwest of Arnhem with the Nederrijn River below.
16. Passing through 6,000 we see the Markermeer ahead.
17. We turn to begin our approach to runway 22 Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport.
18. About three miles out at 450 feet we are lined up on final with flaps full and gear down.
19. Touchdown.
20. Taxiing to the gate.
