The light can be lovely in the early morning. I noticed you've switched to a DC-6 from the DC-6B?
Yes well spotted Tom. My first BCPA paint was for the DC-6B (I did the PMDG version and then Cal Classic). The DC-6 BCPA paint was done by Wayne Tudor and is featured on the DC-6 page here it would not work on the DC6B but now the DC-6 is fully FSX it was a have to go to, along with some others. I think BCPA only had the original 6 as they actually took over the hulls on the line in 1948 that were meant for SAS but SAS decided not to take them. When BCPA was shutdown (taken over by Qantas) the 6's went to TEAL and then later to the RNZAF so they motored along for a long time in Southern Skies.
Glad people like the screenshots, I guess it is about capturing some moments in the sim well like in real life, it is there for a minute and then gone. The weather or clouds and sky is REX SkyForce 3D as they call it, very nice program and with the cloud modelling they now use quite light in terms of texture loads for FSX.
I had more engine problems out of Nadi for Canton Island so did a return, not sure what is happening here, temps pressures etc all normal, carb heat on etc and they all decided to quit simultaneously (dropped back to idle) and then would not generate any reasonable power despite lower altitude higher OAT temps etc, all the signs of carb icing but not evident in gradual loss of MP etc more like some sort of fuel issue, I was on Aux tanks at the time, will get into the books on this for a bit. So the whole trip is a real learning curve about this aeroplane.
