Hi all,
I've converted the DC-6A models to FSX native format and created separate FSX/P3D Base Packs. On the DC-6A page.
Enjoy,

They were tricky indeed. Lots of extra parts that required some TLC.
You're welcome,

Thanks. Started on the DC-6s, but I’m busy this week so slow going.

Just a couple of questions about the 6's in general. I wanted to change the landing and taxy lights and the others to shockwave lights of various types but there is no entry in the light section of the config files for landing lights, I guess they are modelled into the aircraft model, I can see them when on but not where they are coming from and I can see the extended light housing on the wing in the day. I do not get any taxy light showing at all. Not sure where this was I presume the nose wheel oleo.
The other thing was the landing and taxy light switches which appear to have a conflict between the VC and the 2D pop panels, they work on the 2D but appear to cancel each other out if you use the VC. This I am aware is a common problem with all ported over VCs and panels so I guess I will have to get used to it.
The last thing was the light section has some extra cockpit lights which can be added, are these controlled by any panel switches or just provide different illumination in different spots in the VC?

Hi,
The landing lights are indeed in the model. Entries for landing lights in the cfg file can be added, but we were approaching the limit for the number of lines in the Lights section and didn't add them there. There were no taxi lights on the DCs, nor are there taxi light switches.
The extra VC lights are controlled by the panel light switch which in the VC turns off ALL the lights, and thus is not very useful. So they are on all the time. This is MS's doing, not mine.
