Below is a link to a story about today's tragic crash of the Collings Foundation's B-17 nicknamed nine o nine. Tragically lives were lost and there were injuries. That exact extent of which have not been released as I write this. I had the opportunity to fly on this airplane myself in February of 2006 from KEXE in Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. I sincerely hope that the casualties are minimized. A tragic day in aviation. Ed B-17 Crash

The Mustang, B-25, B-24 and B-17 fly into Livermore every year. I have been aboard the B-17 several times, not as a passenger or crew member though. Very sad...

I flew on Nine-O-Nine about 20 years ago, great aircraft, well maintained. I've seen her many times, she has overflown my house on numerous occasions. I was devastated when I heard she crashed and what's worse is that 7 of the 13 aboard perished. I fear that this will have serious repercussions in the warbird and vintage aircraft communities.
