N4887C, a DC-7B recently purchased for the Delta museum has arrived ATL from Mesa, AZ. this evening a little after 5 p.m.
It will be painted in Delta's Golden Crown livery and put on static display at the museum. It's only been 52 years since Delta owned a DC-7!

Tom,
When I read the interesting article from your provided link, it says that Delta DC-7 is the only flying DC-7 in the world.
I thought there is another DC-7 with Eastern livery that is still in mint flying condition???
Am I correct or wrong?
Regards,
Aharon

The EAL 7 blew an engine on takeoff at CLT seven years ago and it's still there.

Hi, I believe Sully Sullenberger had just gotten off the plane, flying it up from Florida. Another pilot took over, they took off and the number 3 engine failed, was feathered, and they returned to Charlotte. It remains there to this day, at the Carolinas Aviation Museum: www.carolinasaviation.org/exhibits/eastern-airlines-dc-7b/
