Henri Deutsch de la Meurthe (1846–1919) was a successful French petroleum businessman and later founder of Shell France. Furtrhermore He was an avid supporter of early aviation and sponsored a number of prizes to encourage the development of aviation technologies, including the "Grand Prix d'Aviation" and the "Coupe Deutsch de la Meurthe". BTW, in 1911, Edouard Nieuport who was one of several aviation minded brothers, died after being thrown from his aircraft, and the company was taken over by Deutsch. The "Deutsch de la Meurthe cup" was an international aeronautical speed competition instituted in 1909. In the Thirties the course was held over 100 km, from French Etampes aerodrome to Boncé (near Chartres) and back. The last competition was organized 1n 1936, in which two Caudron C.461s, one Caudron C.450 and two Caudron C.560s took part. The Caudron's lined up ... and taking off from Etampes Mondesir airfield The leading Caudron C460 approaching the waypoint at Boncé near Chartres (well known for its cathedral and royal conorations) This event allready attracted a great interest ... In 1933, Caudron was bought by Louis Renault, one of the founders of Renault and a pioneer of the automobile industry. The factory was then established at the airfield of Issy-les-Molineaux. Now this place is known as heliport and included in "CalClassic Central Europe 1961" scenery package as well. Bernard

Absolutely! And not in the last place because of the great view points and compositions of the screen shots.
Many thanks, Erik
