Hello Everyone!
I've installed the DC-7B in both v2 and v4 of P3D. Everything is working fine, except the superchargers.
Do the superchargers work in P3D and if so what do I need to do to get them working?
Thank you, Kenny.

No they don’t. Doug Dawson never got to creating a 64 bit version of the supercharger gauge.

OK thanks for the replay Tom. Does that go for P3Dv2? V2 is 32bit.

Hi,
I don't know. The FSX version might work?

Since the supercharger switches do not work in P3D, you will need to make some edits to the aircraft.cfg file so you can recover the power you need at high altitudes. The easy way:
Look for the [piston_engine] section in the plane's aircraft.cfg file.
There are three lines that should look something like this (this is from the DC-6B CB-16, but they are all similar):
critical_altitude=5000 //7200 //the numbers after the // are for automatic supercharger switching emergency_boost_type=1 //0 emergency_boost_gain_offset=0.177 //0.000000
Note the comment - automatic supercharger switching is for when the supercharger switches don't work, as in P3D.
You need to change the numbers before the slashes to the numbers after the slashes:
critical_altitude=7200 //supercharger switches do not work in P3D emergency_boost_type=0 emergency_boost_gain_offset=0.000000
Save the file. Now you have the power you need.
The second way is to leave the numbers above as is, add the supercharger lines as given in the forum link above, and edit the high power line until they plane has the correct high altitude performance (you could find out what that is by changing the numbers above as I describe and then test the plane at high altitudes). This is really unnecessary, as editing the numbers above will get you the same thing.
I will be changing these numbers in the Base Pack downloads and will let you know when that is completed.

The Base Packs now have the supercharger numbers as described above edited for the P3D versions.
