Malév flight MA348 is an Ilyushin IL-18D on a continuing flight from Brussels Zaventem to Budapest Ferihegy (EBBR - LHBP). We have 2,400 gallons of fuel on board for the 615 nm flight. We will have moderate cloud cover for the entire flight. Our cruising altitude will be 10,000 feet.

2. Passengers boarded, cockpit checks completed and engines started.
3. We are assigned runway 2 for departure and we begin to taxi out.
4. In the air and stowing the gear.
5. Climbing through 2,000 feet we turn on course for Budapest.
6. Passing through 7,000 feet with the town of Boutersem below.
7. We have been cruising at 10,000 feet for a while and are now near the city of Liège about 25 nm from the German border.
8. Fifty nm inside Germany over the city of Koblenz and the Rhine River near where the Mosel River joins it.
9. Forty nm further on we see Frankfurt Rhein-Main Airport off our right wing just below the clouds.
10. Passing over the City of Amberg, Germany with the Vils River below.
11. Over Czechoslovakia now and about 10 nm south of České Budějovice we see the Vltava River.
12. Passing over Vienna we see the Austrian Alps off to our right.
13. Back over Czechoslovakia with the city of Bratislava and the Danube River below.
14. With the Danube to our right and rear we are over Hungary making our initial descent and have been routed to the southeast of Budapest and assigned runway 31L at Ferihegy Airport.
15. Holding at 2,600 feet about 15 nm southeast of Budapest.
16. Beginning our turn to intercept runway 31L at Ferihegy.
17. Lined up on final approach with flaps and gear down.
18. Just past the numbers.
19. Touchdown.
20. The rollout is completed and we are turning off the runway.
21. Taxiing to parking we see the Soviet Tupolev-104 that landed several minutes before us.
22. Parked, all systems shut down and passengers disembarked. Thanks for flying Malév.
