Thanks, Tom. This seems to be a large part and perhaps all of the answer. I have for some time been using Firefox add-ons which block trackers, until recently without problems. However, I have lately disabled one called Privacy Badger which was stopping me making online payments and having just done the same with another called Ghostery I now find that the links on this page will open. Imgur doesn't seem quite the same - I had to sign in even though I appeared to be already signed in - but once I had it worked in the familiar way. So to continue with my reply to Erik...
On a bearing of 041 and approaching the Canarsie VOR the first set of lights is visible beyond it.
The crucial point. The intermediate set of 3 lights is slightly bigger than the rest in my version and this is where one turns for 13R. It works, although the approach to the runway is fairly oblique, but I suppose that is how it is. For 13L overfly these lights and then look for the sequence of 11 flashers near the Sports stadium, which is itself clearly recognisable during the day. My present intention is to upload this to Flightsim. I am not sure that the location of the Twin Stacks is quite right, but they are in a separate bgl and can be omitted. This is a visual approach and it is essential to be able to see the next set of lights at each stage, but as I said above it works down to a visibility of at least 3 nautical miles. Nor, with a little practice, is it all that difficult.

Lovely images Ken, the Parkway itself also stands out clearly. Appears to be as realistic as one can expect from our good old sim! Other things are keeping me from virtual flying at the time but topics like these are always great. I will make sure to create the required conditions for this approach once I get to flying into IDW. Thanks!

Thank you, Erik. With John Hewson's kind permission I now show a 1967 chart for this approach and the latest version of the lights in this 'scenery', which mirrors the chart as closely ss I have been able and is different to that in the screenshot above. This is Ultimate Terrain USA, by the way, and as you say the Parkway shows up clearly, both by day and night. THe VOR, which I believe did not exist before this system was created, needs to be approached on a bearing of 041, as the 1967 chart shows, and when the screenshot below was taken I must have been almost directly above it; visibility was set to ten miles. The Stacks are very useful indeed and having now flown the approach quite a few times they and the coastal outline guide one in pretty well in reasonable visibility, the lights being readily picked up in due course. This is the version which will be released unless anyone else has further thoughts to offer.
PS The modern and FS9 Canarsie is 112.30

Looking great Ken! I expect your addon will be appreciated by anyone 'seriously' flying to NY's biggest airport.
Many thanks, Erik
