18/07/20 My 5yr running FS9 (no-cd exe) was slow to respond so I clicked again. Nothing, so once again & suddenly I had 3 sim windows. I quickly clicked 2 exit buttons but they all went one by one. I clicked the exe again & a blank reduced window appeared followed by 'Flight sim has a problem & must stop' or similar.
On the 19th it still wouldn't respond & I went to the 'FS9 won't start' topic to be reminder about reasons for non-starting & found this = KB3086255.
I had deleted it when this scare first appeared but checked my update & found it had been reinstalled on the 18th at 17.05. I deleted again & hid it, but FS9 still won't start with disc4 or a no-cd.exe. I checked today & the update only appears on the update history list & not in the installed updates. I've tried all sorts of things - even installing a brand new FS9 but that won't work. I wonder if you or anyone has an insight that eludes me to get it to start ? Is another gremlin on the prowl ?

I looked at your link & realised I'd not renamed FS9 cfg so did that & I now have a working FS9 that needs configuring but at least it's working. It's the simple things............!! Thanks.
