Why is it that this pop-up appears every single time I visit another page, regardless of whether the new page is inside a thread that I was reading or a different thread or a new thread or even my messages ?
Please fix it.

Hi, We don't run this site, Proboards does. You can post a message in their Support forum if you like. This site uses cookies to help its operation (and its ads). I assume you have your browser set to not save cookies (or you choose to not accept them), and thus it asks each time. That is now required by the EU and some other countries: From this site: www.thesun.co.uk/tech/6507593/what-is-cookie-internet-accept-info-decline-delete-cookies-explained/"Back in May 2018, a sweeping piece of EU law called the GDPR came into force. In short, it means companies need to get your explicit consent to collect your data. If a cookie can identify you via your device (which most cookies do), then companies need your consent. That's why you're now seeing lots of websites asking for your permission before dumping a cookie on your computer." Hope this helps,

Yes, I know all about cookies and more than most about the GDPR since I was the Data Protection Officer for my multi-national employer for some time. But none of that explains why the pop-up appears every time that I visit a new page . . . If it was operating properly, then I would expect to receive that message each time that I visited the site, not each time I visited a page.

Is this happening to anyone else?
And as I said, I have no way of fixing this - I don't run the server.

I am using Firefox, no pop up regarding cookies, even with UBlock Origin turned off.

Absolutely same on my end: Firefox, and no any cookies-related pop-ups.

I use Firefox and an addin called Ghostery. I have a banner across every page which when expanded asks me to disable my pop-up blocker. AFAIK Ghostery is providing the pop-up blocker. I accept the banner because Ghostery is also blocking tracking cookies and I do not want to turn it off when I visit this site or any other. I am a very untrusting person when it comes to the internet as many things happen unknown to me which are for someone else's financial interest not mine.

All good here too on Firefox. Some time back I was offered the chance to declare myself as being in the EU and all was quiet after that until recently when a large window popped up with three options about cookies. I clicked on Decline and haven't seen it since. I noticed that by declaring yourself as in the EU, links that you post in messages still get hijacked to go via a tracking company, which I think is probably illegal under EU law. I wonder if the OP has an aggressive cookie blocker which is causing the constant bother? It might (or might not) be better to go to item 6 at www.proboards.com/privacy#cookies which admits to making money selling our personal information and follow the instructions there to stop them doing so to allegedly stop this. Given the above, I wonder if all the actions we have a right to take actually do anything at all. John

Check your browser's privacy settings. Make sure you have "accept cookies from trusted sites" enabled (or however it is worded with your particular browser). This sounds like your browser is not accepting any cookies. If you set your browser to never accept cookies, then yes, you will get that cookie popup every time you click on a new page.
