I posted about backing things up for the site. I'm trying to download those things that I didn't already have and the second step will be to try and get the slideshows saved. There's another link there where Tom, the owner of CR1 Software, is working with another gentleman to improve the shaders and write independent dll's to run with FS9. If he's successful (he programs for a living from what I understand) the end result will be an FS9 with some - not all - of the "eye candy" of FSX. From what I've seen on the videos it appears there may be the posibility of shadows on the aircraft itself both in and out, and maybe even bump mapping? Either way, it's going to be one hell of an upgrade! Jorge Miami, FL FS9 RebuildCaveat/Note: There are one or two videos (not sure which ones) where the gentleman that narrates (Slim Picks) basically goes on a foul-mouthed rant about the original shaders in FS9. Just a heads up in case you have minors in the area and are using speakers. Best to use headphones or just hit "mute."

I have already asked the moderator at SOH if they are interested in hosting the Ford Tri-Motor Software. I too, have all of it already, in my separate Ford install.
Thanks for referring Tom's comments that he is working on rebuilding FS9 to higher standards, and no need to criticize somebody's narration. If you do not like it, fine, no need to blab about it on another site. If it worries you, PM Slim Pics, not rant about him on another forum. That's what etiquette is all about.

As far as your comment about the future of FS2004, have you seen the continual support of developers & the number of downloads for DaveM's Austers? There seems to be a revival, based on the number of downloads.

I cannot see anything there about the lack of encouragement for the future of FS9 there. Ed has been running & financing the hosting of Garry's site ever since he passed away, a few years ago. Also, on SOH, we managed to collect all of David Molyneaux's Austers, many of which have already vanished. Edward Cook's planes have also been saved to Flightsim.com. Edward's site has also been closed, so his collection will also live on.
This Vintage Flying forum is providing us with a great compendium of stories, pictures & planes, and, in a way, is also part of a revival. Long Live Vintage FS9!!

Not sure if this's the same TRIMOTOR simulation .... I think it is (although it might have been further updated since I installed it), but, IMHO it was/ "IS" a beauty .... and one which I actually posted about at HJG as part of a Grand Canyon scenery presentation back in 2012 as per the followimg-linked feature .... tonymadgehjg.proboards.com/thread/5819/canyon-caper-trying-out-motorI still use it now .... every once in a while A thing about most/some vintage aviation though is that in this modern day/hi-tech age people have to/need to try'n get other people "interested/excited/and sufficiently enthusiastic about it" in order to encourage them to use it. I feel this particular TRI MORTOR simulation has "all of the necessary ingredients" for that .... it's just that a lot of people don't know about, or have forgotten about, its existence .... "maybe". Vintage aviation aviation also tends (I feel) to be "a niche" field of interest/market too .... needless to say it "DOES" interest me .... and especially when it's done as well as this particular TRI MOTOR simulation "IS" .... and to most whom really appreciate aviation and flying vintage aviation it is what effectively pathed the way to what we mostly all take for granted in respect of air travel today. FS .... and the like of simulations such as this TRI MOTOR .... at least enable us to sence "a little" of what flying were was like at the birth of the civil aviation era Just my .... 50 cents worth Mark C AKL/NZ

Hi Mark, What you have is only an aircraft add-in. What will be disappearing is this.. ford-tri-motor.net/It's a site, by the late Garry Smith & supported by Ed Moore, with over 360 textures for the Tri-Motor, Many sceneries with AI planes as well as different projects, India, Manchukuo (China, Fordlandia, Blackhawk Project & others. Also there are aircraft & many textures, such as The Jenny, 221A Monomail, DH-80, 88 & 91 Vega, with 200 pints & others. Worthy of a look & support!

It seems that Ford-Tri-Motor will remain definitely unavailable. In any case, SOH did no new announcements about this matter.

Alejandro, thanks for your advice. I have been on SimOuthouse site some days before. Glad that all those cracy liveries are still available.
