AI,Thanks for your reply. I finally dedected the cause of the untextered aircraft. It wasn't the verson USAF-4173B as I intially supposed. It's the 'AI VC-121E Columbine III'. Sorry for this mistake.
Curiously in the package I downloaded some days ago, the texture folder is missing. Obvisouly the folder has been updated in the meantime. Anyway, I downloaded 'Port Lyautey scenery' again and could now install the missing folder.
For those of you who are interested there is an Easter Egg of sorts in the traffic file. If you look at the aircraft text file in the Traffic folder of the download and look at the last aircraft listed AC#50,195,"UF-1 Albatross USN Rescue 1961", if you happen to have it or want to find it on Flightsim.com. Sorry I can't remember which file it was that contained this particular repaint but it did have Midway painted on the tail. I put this in just prior to our releasing the scenery but since this is a flyable aircraft used as ai, it doesn't perform great on landings as an ai aircraft therefor Ken Lawson and I decided to leave it out of the aircraft folder. It looks great sitting in front of the USN Hangar and matches pictures found in JWH's album on Port Lyautey, which was indispensable in putting this scenery together, Thanks John.
Replacing 'HU16.air' file with 'CL_415.air' allows a smooth landing of the aircraft. I use it for a lot of high wing planes.
Bernard, Glad the problem is solved. Thanks for the tip on the on replacing the HU16 air file. That was something I was going to look into. The Alpha A3D sky warrior needs the same thing but not for flight but for taxing. Tends to start bouncing a lot and if to severe will disappear.
It would be great if one of our talented painters here would take on painting the HU16 as depicted in John’s album of Port Lyautey. There is a version already available in the basic colors just need the specific identification details added
