"if wishes were fishes, we'd all cast nets" - Author escapes my memory.
in priority;
DC-3/C-47 (supposedly in the works, time will tell) Howard 500 DC-6B (hint hint, nudge nudge) CV-240/340 (hint hint, nudge nudge) DC-4/C-54 (do I have to say it again..?) B-17F/G
Not really looking for simple port-overs, but bona fide MSFS created hardware. My copy of FSX-SE is behaving like a dog who's owner just petting a strange dog, it has not been cooperating like it used to since I had to do a Win10 restore a few months ago, and now that I have MSFS2020, it has taken to sulking even more. Flying the Cessna 172 has been a blast, but I miss the larger, older flying iron...

I have no plans to create anything for FS2020, so others will need to step up.

Delighted to hear it, Tom, though I'm not surprised they're getting bored with Cessnas.

If I could have one wish it would be that FS9 had VR capabilities.

Hi, The old warbirds (spitfire, some older jets), start to coming to MSFS, and even a Bleriot (overpriced, but well, is there...) I Thinks the freeware community developers, will start to work on it, as the SDK V0.12 start to be very interesting. The good news: It's a REALLY open flight simulator, as is FS2004/FSX/P3D, maybe more... Performs outstanding well, better than P3DV4.5 on my system, almost as good as XP11 but with better graphics (and i not have a high end system) So the good news, is that i think, more and more people will start to developpe for it The bad news: Is a whole new world, not very close with the tools FS91/FSX/P3D developpers knows... Convert is always possible to native models, and "bona fide" as you said You must be patient I will probably start to work slowly trying to develope something to this new Simulator, but i need to finish some others things first. Not sure when we will have, classic scenerys, and aircrafts, available for MSFS, but that will finish to arrive . cheers

Objectively, I don't think that classic aviation will experience a real revival with MSFS2020. Not even FSX, X-Plane or P3D couldn't offer at least a fraction of what we get here. Some propliners, some ponctual sceneries, that's all.
By pure curiosity I compared how many propliners are available at FlightSim for the different versions:
FS9: 275 pages FSX: 72 pages X-Plane: 32 pages
It's certainly due to the lack of interest for classic and vintage flying. And I sincerly doubt that a larger number of MSFS2020 users will request these past eras. IMO we still should do the best and optimize as long as possible with that what has been achieved uo to now. Of course, that is just my own point of view, and I absolutely don't expect that it should be shared. Bernard

My take on this is that we are a small group of users, and getting smaller. The number of people that create and release new liveries, sceneries, and aircraft can be counted on your 10 fingers. We lose people from this group almost every year, and no one is replacing them. To expect this group to learn a completely new process for creating models and then regenerate for FS2020 everything that is now available for earlier sims is just not practical.
Thus in my opinion the best use of our time is to continue creating things for the older sims. If people are willing to learn how to convert the current classic world (at least my models) to FS2020 that’s fine with me, just give us credit for the original models. I know that others are not so generous, so ask first.
The sad fact of life is that it moves on, leaving us behind here in our little world. Little we can do about that.

What we have in the CalClassic 'Mod' for FS9 is special. With the Silver/Goldwings to compliment all the great stuff available here, and the flexibility of FS9 allowing for multiple installs, that would be hard to recreate with the newer sims. But, for our little group, it has been a great ride and isn't over yet. Even with MSFS, XP11, and FSX installed, I still come back to FS9 for a lot of reasons, CalClassic being one of the main ones. If anything, even if we dont have any sort of real conversions for the newer sims, there will soon likely be some nice prop-liners to fly in them. X-Plane already has a few. It's a given, as soon as a DC3 is available for a sim, I'm flying it.

Curiously there still is a very active CFS 2 and CFS 3 community Bernard

I am very happy with my FS9 install. I got FSX for free, and it is still sitting in a memory card collecting dust. No interest. Literally 90% of my aircraft collection is prop driven, and happy to keep it that way. Sure I like flying a 747 across the Atlantic from time to time. But always welcome to come back here. CalClassic has made the FS9 platform unique in the fact that there is nothing out there like it. I'll be plying the skies of this old sim for a long time to come.

As enticing as MSFS looks visually, the above classic add-on will be few and far between. Compared to something like what’s available for FS9. Looking at screenshots and videos of users in their DC-6 flying over modern cities and in and out of current airports really losers the appeal. And whoever at PMDG decided to put a iPad checklist, and a modern gps in the cockpit should be horse whipped! Out….rageous.

Since you are flying in a modern world, it makes sense that they would model a modern cockpit. I don’t think they intended to create a classic era aircraft.
