Hi all, I have completed the addition of 1955 world wide AI traffic to my AI package. To get all the new traffic and liveries, you will need to download all of the files 1 - 9, except for #3. Many of these new planes and liveries are used in 1957 and 1959 traffic as well. www.calclassic.com/AIAircraft.htmThere are pictures of the new liveries/planes here: calclassic.proboards.com/thread/10053/1955-ai-project?page=1Don't forget to add the new 1955 AI Traffic folder to the Scenery Library. Enjoy,

Note that if you use any other classic AI traffic (MATS, Helicopters, Ocean Stations), just copy them from your CalClassic Traffic 1957/scenery folder and paste them into your CalClassic Traffic 1955/scenery folder. I will get those packages updated eventually, but that will work for now. Do not copy/paste the Traffic_1957.BGL or TrafficWorld_1957.BGL files.

BTW, with a project of this size some errors are probably inevitable. If you find any let me know here in this thread.
I found one - if you downloaded files 1 and 9 before this message was posted, you'll need to do that again to avoid seeing KLM DC-3's in 60s livery.
Sorry 'bout that,

Hi Tom How do we get around that we have uploaded vintage liveries from FlightSim etc. Do we loose them when the updated files are installed?
Thanks John

Hi,
1. Save your existing aircraft.cfg files by renaming them aircraft.cfg.bak. 2. Install the AI package files. All of your extra liveries will not be removed. 3. Rename the new aircraft.cfg files to aircraft_default.cfg. 4. Rename the aircraft.cfg.bak files to aircraft.cfg. 5. Add the new fltsim sections from the aircraft_default.cfg files to the aircraft.cfg files.
Note that this is only needed for the AI aircraft that have custom changes. The others do not need this.
Done!

Thanks Tom My biggest problem is remembering the ones I have added. Though there is probably not that many. Though I could always work back and renter them.
Hopefully I won't muck it up.

Yeah, I’ve been meaning to create a written list of customized folders in a text file, but I haven’t gotten around to it.

Glad you like it. John, Assuming all your customization was using HQ aircraft, there is a table of aircraft below the links for files 1-9, and that lists which ones include HQ aircraft. Look into those folders, and look to see what the HQ model is called (usually model.gp or model.mj, etc.). Then do a search in the plane's aircraft.cfg file for gp, mj, etc. - whatever the model folder was named. If you find some, then that cfg file needs to be saved.

Just wanted to say thanks to Tom and Mike. Downloaded and installed files 1-9 excepting 3 without any problem. In 1955 there are no jets(I barely remember those days). How could we have known that just as piston engines were powerful enough to carry the payloads and have the range that a growing airline travel system would need their days were already numbered. A short time for glory.

Glad you're enjoying it. Those days were propliner heaven, but I only visited little Santa Ana airport in those days to see the twice a day Bonanza DC-3 arrive and take off.

Just want to acknowledge again how wonderful this traffic is. I have a particular fondness for 1955 as it's the year that I popped into existence and flying in that year has often been my era of choice in FS.
That said I was a bit worried when departing Anchorage on Northwest Orients Flight 1, Connie service to Tokyo from the 1956 schedule and the only traffic at PANC was MATS. However arriving at Hanida found me landing right behind the AI Northwest 1 and RJTT was crammed full of AI traffic to goggle at. So the installation of the new traffic went off as intended at the second attempt, with the first install bungled by a problem encountered between chair and keyboard. Outstanding work and many thanks again for it.
