Hi all, Bill Douglas and I have finished the 1959 version of London airport, with contributions from Chris Helton and Ken Lawson - thanks to all! The major difference is that the Oceanic Terminal has not yet been built, and is instead an overflow parking area. The international flights park at the North Terminal, at the north edge of the airport: Another change is that BEA was using an earlier type of bus: Some other changes include: The Ariel Hotel is not yet built. The Skyway Hotel is under construction. The European parking has not yet been expanded. Runway 15L/33R is still in use. The North fire station has not yet been constructed. It can be downloaded at: www.calclassic.com/files/London_Airport_1959.zipIf you see any problems let me know here in this thread. Enjoy,

Thanks for this beautiful add-on. We're spoiled for authenticity at Heathrow. All the best, Bill

Billl discovered the AI Super Connies were not parking correctly at the North Terminal due to incorrect model radii. This has been fixed and File #7 of the AI aircraft package has been updated.

May I just add that the north side parking spots in Tom's screenshot above are intentionally set in a way that forces aircraft with a wingspan of more than 140', the Britannias, Stratocruisers, Starliners and 707's, only to park facing the runway in the row furthest from the terminal. This is to ensure that AI can manoeuver in and out of all 14 of these closely spaced parking spots without collisions.
So if you installed the June 6 version of AI File Seven it is essential to update that to the June 30 version, otherwise Super Connies will only park where these larger types are intended to be, so blocking some of these larger aircraft and leaving the intended spots empty.
Bill

Hi again,
The final version of London Airport 1959 has been uploaded to my server (same link) and to flightsim.com. It has the same minor improvements as did the last version of the 1962 airport. Nothing major.
