OK, in terms of yokes, throttles, mixture & prop controls, what do you all use?
Bear in mind that much of what we fly here are multi-engine aircraft and thus these controls need to be duplicated.
Do you have one control for all engines and then just use the 'E-select' command differentiate between the engines, or do some of you have a separate control for each engine's functions?
cheers Thomas

Hi,
I use a Saitek P880 pad and all the engines, flaps and props are run together using the keyboard commands as well as the controls on the pad. I could never get the hang of trying to do everything individually!! Many crashes and very few landings, I think.
Andy.

CH Products Fighterstick USB (I used to fly combat sims, therefore I have a stick instead of a yoke), CH Products Propedals USB and CH Products Throttle Quadrant USB.

CH Products Flightsim Yoke USB and CH Products Propedals USB. Maybe a bit too basic but it is fine to me. (flying in the realistic settings)

I just installed CH Products yoke, rudder peddles & throttle quandrant about a month ago (upgrading from a Logitech joystick). I've set up individual throttles from 4 engines but ganged all the props & mixtures on a single lever each. So far I like the set-up.

I've considered combining all prop pitch and mixtures into just two levers so I can fly four engined aircraft, but I really like having independent control over the functions of each engine.

Hi,
CH Pro Yoke and Pro Pedals here. I find the single throttle, mixture, and RPM controls just fine for me.

I also came out of CFS to FS and use a 10yr old Microsoft Sidewinder Precision Pro stick. It's a twist grip stick so I don't need pedals.

Saitek X-52 stick and throttle combo with Saitek rudder pedals & brakes plus this generic flight sim console I built using the circuitry from an old keyboard... The throttle half of the Saitek unit slips into the semi-circular opening on the left. The two small levers are for props and mixtures and I use E +1 or 2, etc, to control individual engines. I almost keep this console to my right and use the joystick left-handed to simulate using a yoke with one hand. Sometimes, I swap sides for helicopters or fighters. Since this thread is for general hardware information, I'll mention two points about the Saitek X-52. Upside: Lots of buttons, sliders, etc, so there is a great deal of flexibility. Downside: The Saitek programming software just didn't work for me. However, the unit works fine when controls are programmed by using FSUIPC and/or the standard FS9 control assignments feature. Cheers, Glenn

I have the same set up as bill with the CH Yoke, Pedals and Throttle Quad and use it the same way.
I have wondered, will FS9 let you use 2 Quads and gain control of all 12 levers (Prop, Mix, Throttles) in a quad? Not that I need to spend another $150 I'm just wondering.

Up until last year I used a cheap 2 axis joystick, but integrated it with the pedals of an old driving wheel joystick to manage the rudder, then the joystick of 7 years of flight left me for the greener pastures (of a trash discharge) and I bought Thrustmaster Top Gun Fox 2 Pro USB, which has a twist handle and allows me to make without the encumbering wheel I never used, but only needed for its pedals.
Have made a thought to quadrants and consoles in the past, bought and/or home-made, but never really went down to buy any for both laziness and the fact that I am used to the keyboard commands, after a decade and a half of use with FS.

I have the CH yoke and pedals, and also use the throttle quadrant in FS10 only as I fly nothing with more than 2 engines in that. I also have wondered if there's any way to hook up 2 throttle quadrants in FS9 and have separate engine control on the 4 engined planes in FS9.
Does anyone know if it can be done??
Cheers, Mike

Glenn, that's a nice panel! I also didn't realize you lived on a boat?
I don't know if you can hook up more than one quadrant - I don't use one. I don't see anything on the web about that - not a good sign.

With the registered version of FSUIPC, it can be done. I remember having read a thread about this some time ago on a italian forum.

OK, so many of you have gone for the simple sort of Joy-stick & pedals set-up that I also have. And as you say, Tom, there not being much on the net about more than one quadrant is not a good sign.
ozbeowulf - Glen, You have a very nice set-up - I'm envious!
cheers Thomas
