Yes, what Avsim produces seems to depend on what you put in the search engine. You will know this, but for others I will add that the later versions are in some cases patches - you just copy the patch files into the existing installation. Thus, I have just installed 5.6, but it can be replaced by 3.2 or 4 if I wish.

Let us know how it works and I’ll give them a try.

I have spent some hours with this today. It has gone smoothly to the extent that the program has produced exclude bgls, but when placed in the scenery folder they have had no effect - the polygon has still been there. Finally I tried version 5.6, which produced the image below. This might perhaps give some idea of what I have done wrong.

Did you give it a 0_ prefix?
And layer 7?

I followed Tom's tutorial as closely as I could. Ground2K4 isn't like S-Builder.

I have never had to do the 0_ prefix like SBuilder tells you is necessary, but it couldn't hurt to try it. Did you click every square that contained part of the airport polygon and exclude the polygons in every square?

If you like, send me your LWM file and the image (and what folders both files are located in on your computer - entire path).

It also looks possible that you have more than one file that is placing those polygons. The file you create with Ground2K4 must be in a HIGHER scenery layer than any file placing polygons (other than your own). It cannot be in the same folder or it will not be excluded.

If by the airport polygon we mean the green area yes I did select all the squares. I will send the files you ask for and also the entire scenery folder. Many thanks.

For those who have been following this, the issue has now been solved. I was confused by the fact that in S-Builder you need to draw an exclusion polygon. A closer reading of Tom's text would have revealed that with this program you simply stop after chapter 16 and then compile it. Only one bgl file is created, but that is the one that does the job.

Glad you got it figured out. Now airport polygons will be easy!
