I already mentioned in one my threads that the DC-4 and C-54 of Berlin Design aren't creational masterpieces. But at least the AI C-54 used with Ulf Nordin's Berlin Airlft pacakge, the registration #5521 isn't a fancy one as shows the picture below: (souce: USAF - U.S. Air Force photo 021001-O-9999G-017 [1], Gemeinfrei, commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?curid=362045)But I haven't been able to verify whether this aircraft has really been involved with BAL. Bernard,
I just uploaded there one more book: "Colonel Wolfgang W.E. Samuel - I Always Wanted to Fly. America’s Cold War Airmen (2001)". The whole first chapter is dedicated to the Berlin Airlift. The link to download is the same.
Regards, Dan

Many thanks Dan for this and the other titles.
Possibly interesting footnote .. the cover picture of the Britain at War issue shown on your link is based on a post-processed screenshot of our (Jahn/Visser's) FSX C-47 (wrong version, unfortunately, because it has the later tail beacon and misses the Rebecca aerials). Still, very well done.
I was one of the kids who were flown out in one of those 'Daks' in March of 49.

Thanks for all these links. Unfortunately all books and prints I downloaded or red online don't mention the role taken by the Soviet air force. I can't imagine that this was just sitting there crossing its arms! Only the collision of a Yak 9 with a Vickers Viking on approach at Gatow is related in some texts.

aharon Some time ago you were looking for the registrations of the aircraft involved with the Berlin Airlift. Obviously, this informations seem to be extremely difficult to find. But I found a detailed list in the book 'Air Wars and Aircraft' of the all units and the aircraft used by them. Maybe that still could help you. By the way, it is quite an interesting book about all of the conflicts from 1945 to 1982 in which air forces were involved. From Berlin Airlift to Cuban crisis and the Falkland Islands. Unfortunately there aren't just a few ... Bernard
