Regarding the Maam DC-3, I've always found it inconvenient that the Map and GPS icons are accessible only from the copilot's side of the 2D panel. Wouild sure like to move them to the left side but can't seem to figure out how. Would anyone out there be kind enough to make some suggestions ?
Thanks in advance Mike

Actually, there is an icon for the GPS on the left side panel. Not active however. If possible to activate, that would be great.

Copy the gauge lines in the panel.cfg file for the map and GPS icons from the copilot panel section and paste them into the bottom of the pilots panel section. Change the gaugenn numbers to be consecutive. Then edit the first two numbers on each line to place the icons where you want them.

Tom, I'm real clear on doing it that way but here's the rub. It would appear that instead of individual gauge entries for each icon, they're lumped together as one unit. Here's the cfg line :
gauge00=MAAM_R4D!Icons_FO, 999,532,18,135
Am I correct that I would have to get into the actual gauge itself to do any editing ?

Or just do the same thing with the default simicons. From the default Cessna:
gauge41=SimIcons!Map Icon, 354, 280, 21, 21 gauge43=SimIcons!GPS Icon, 413, 280, 21, 21
I added the ,21,21 to each line to set a size. Change them as desired.
This assumes that their panel uses the default ident=225 line in the GPS subpanel section.

Thanks for the tip. Mike

Okay, added those 2 lines to the main panel section, renumbered them. The map icon works perfectly but the GPS does not.

Okay, added those 2 lines to the main panel section, renumbered them. The map icon works perfectly but the GPS does not. Check the 'Ident= ? ' listed in the GPS [Window0 ?] entry. For the default GPS it's 'ident=GPS_PANEL' , but some have a number. For you to have the GPS to work when you click on the new GPS icon you'll need to change the ident to suit the default. Pete.

Thanks Tom, that did the trick. More convenient now not having to switch to the CP panel to access map and GPS. Saved all the entries for quick use in the future.

Mike you got my curiosity going.
I found my copy of the MAAM DC-3 on an old FS9 backup external HD and copied across into my FSX:SE.
Searched the MAAM site and installed the Transparency Fix plus the FSX Update and a Panel mod.
It's back in business with everything working well.
This is great news.
So from your initial query, you've made me a happy chappy.
Thanks.
Pete.

Hey Pete,
Interested in knowing what panel mod you're using. I have the one that gives you the choice of either gyro OR HSI indicators.
Also have a nifty add on with wing and logo lights. I think they both came from the Maam-Sim site as "free stuff".

Mike I'm using Mark Beaumont's modern panel update with Bendix King avionics and HSI and RMI.

That's the panel I use as well. Also added Shockwave lights and a sound file from somewhere. So many of those out there. All in all, I love this simulation. Perhaps my favorite plane in the hangar. Also have the B-25 "Briefing Time".
