Nice to be home again. Had a ball roaming around in the Caribbean. Lots of good food and nice people to sail with. Only problem was on the return. Got to Galveston at 0500 hours only to have the captain come on the horn and advise us that both the Galveston and Houston ports were closed due to heavy wx.
We sat for 5 hours out in the anchorage along with tankers, container ships and other cruise lines. The fog was so dense that the pilot boats could not locate the ships to board the pilots to bring us into port. We were originally scheduled to dock at 0830 but it was 1200 before we finally had enough sun to burn off the fog.

Welcome Back! Glad your back safe & sound, and all ready to wow us with Your adventures. You're a lucky dog, I am in the middle of a stretch of 11 straight days of 12 hour shifts due vacations & a medical emergency to co-workers. It will make Uncle Sam a big winner come pay-day, with all the OT. Stef

Welcome back! Hope you didn't miss your flight back. And Stefan, don't work too hard. No flight for us Tom. It is only a couple of hours drive from our home NE of KHOU and a 45 minute drive down I-45 to Galveston. However, there was a young Swedish couple assigned to our table in the dining room that were due out of Bush International at 10 AM for their return flight to Stockholm. They did miss their flight.
