Shalom and greetings all my pals,
Just bought a new laptop for general use. It is very powerful but only with 16GB ram. Do all of you think 16GB ram is enough for general use such as internet surfing, Photoshop editing, Paint Shop Pro Ultimate editing, video streaming, and anything non flight sim related?
Regards,
Aharon

Regards, Aharon Of course it will deal with internet surfing and video streaming with ease. Use for graphics work really depends on how advanced the work you do is. Personally I wouldn't use a laptop for graphics work as I don't believe the colour rendition would be good enough for the results I would want, but the manufacturers will say otherwise. John

Sounds like it should be fine for your uses, as long as your graphic files are not huge and you don’t try to load too many at one time.

The big question should be: Integrated or separate graphics card? I have had no luck with integrated cards, and doing loads of graphic files. Getting the extra ram from the separate vid card makes a big difference. I did not go nuts and get big horse card, but one with 8 GB of ram. Just my 2 cents.. Shalom Aleichem, Stefan

Use for graphics work really depends on how advanced the work you do is. Personally I wouldn't use a laptop for graphics work as I don't believe the colour rendition would be good enough for the results I would want, but the manufacturers will say otherwise. My laptop has incredible rich colors with extremely high resolutions in screen. I am using Corel Paint Shop Ultimate Pro and Photoshop for FSX screenshots. Here is quotation on colors from the laptop company" True Colors Your designs will look better than ever on this PANTONE validated 16" display with a 3K (3072 x 1920) resolution and 16:10 aspect ratio with an 87% screen-to-body ratio. Enjoy beautiful, color-accurate imagery with 100% DCI-P3 color gamut and Delta E<2. 100% DCI-P3 DCI-P3 is an international color standard used by directors and producers. Now integrated into devices, colors are reproduced to match this professional-grade quality, making it ideal for high-level editing in video and film. Delta E<2 The display has been tested and calibrated to achieve a low Delta E average of <2 to reproduce true-to-life color accuracy.
Sounds like it should be fine for your uses, as long as your graphic files are not huge and you don’t try to load too many at one time. Thanks I always use 32 GB in laptops but it is first time I bought new laptop with 16 GB because it was on fantastic sale price with 900 bucks off!! The big question should be: Integrated or separate graphics card? I have had no luck with integrated cards, and doing loads of graphic files. Getting the extra ram from the separate vid card makes a big difference. I did not go nuts and get big horse card, but one with 8 GB of ram. It has dedicated 6 GB NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 graphics card
