Hi,
If there are any Japanese speakers out there, I need the Japanese characters for the following:
WELCOME TO NAHA
NAHA INTERNATIONAL AIRORT
I can't make out the characters on the jpegs I have of the terminal, so if somebody can make them in psp or something and send them, I would be greatly appreciative. These are needed for Naha, Okinawa, on the terminal.
thanks, Mike

If you go here, select Eng to Jpn, paste in your text, and press Go you will get a Kanji text of the same words. www.kanjidic.com/WELCOME TO NAHA: 那覇へようこそNAHA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT: 那覇の国際的な空港Another site that might have clearer fonts is here: www.saiga-jp.com/kanji_dictionary.htmlA search for japanese translation kanji should get more of them as well. Hope this helps,

PS. I have no idea if this is real Japanese or not, though...

Its actually a combination of Kanji and Hiragana. Not sure that's exactly what you want... but the reading is good! Dee

Thanks guys. it'll do. That second site was better for me. Heck, by the time I reduce the size of the characters to fit on the bmp, you probably won't able to tell if it was Sanskrit or Japanese or Hebrew LOL
On the apron side of the Naha terminal, is a concrete stylized Tori gate, and it says something in Japanese along the top in red characters. I can only assume it says wecome to naha.

Why don't you put up some photos of said structure, or link where it can be seen? It couldn't hurt, and more people could be able to tell you what's written there.

Unfortunatly, since AOL no longer gives members any personal space to upload photos, I can no longer upload a photo to my personal space, then link it to this forum. I have been looking for alternate sites, but it seems nobody gives you a private site where you can upload your photos to. Everybody charges or its some file sharing site where people come and view the pics then vote or comment on them. All I want is a little space to upload 10 or 15 pics so I can link them to this forum. Oh yes, and my avitar pic.
Oh well, someday, I suppose.

For those forums without inbuilt pics upload I use Freeimagehosting: www.freeimagehosting.net/Try it. It's free. PS I cannot guarantee it's good enough for avatars, as sometimes is quite slow, but for common pics is good enough.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Ashaman, I will see how freeimagehosting goes. I'll try a few pics here of Naha. Detailing is left, and textures for the tower, and then I can move onto PGUM. The tower at Naha is one of the worst, most beat up things I have ever seen at an airport, anywhere. Well here is the new 1958 Naha terminal from the apron side, with the Tori gate arch From the parking lot: The main gate into the terminal area: ...and what is the first thing that greets every serviceman as they get off the plane and go into town? the "bar-a-go-go", what else? and with 24 "happy girls" 24 hours, no less. As a matter of fact, there's three of them right now hanging out under the billboard- just "waiting for a ride" you know..... Here is the control tower in the fall of 1959, it looks as if the war had just ended earlier that day. You can see the beacon on the roof. cheers, Mike
