Mike - That is an excellent piece of work. Just one thing, though - as far as I know Japan has always been one of the few countries that drive on the left. www.japan-guide.com/e/e2022.htmlCheers MikeW

8-)Mike, I emailed the Japanese translation to Tom since I don't have your email address. I have a good friend that lives in PHNL and is married to a Japanese lady from Okinawa. I sent your request to Jeff and he had his wife Yoshimi make the signs for you. I am attaching them here but I think you can use the ones that are in the email when you get them from Tom. Jesse WELCOME TO NAHA NAHA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Hi, and thanks for the translation Jesse. I found out that tower was not in use as a tower by 1962, it became the MATS station. In the mid 1950s a steel derrick tower was built, and then a new modern concrete one was in operation by the mid 60s. Emfrat, you are right, In Okinawa they do drive on the left...today, just as they did before 1945. But when Okinawa as a protectorate of the United States, we had them drive on the right. When we gave Okinawa back to the Japanese in 1973, they changed and had them drive on the left. www.pl8s.com/o/okin.htmGuam is also going to be a big detailed airport in this scenery package. The terminal is only a quonset hut with looks like some type of box entry and exit built onto it. Later there was a small concrete building, but I have no idea when that was built. I do know the quonset hut terminal was in use in 1959, and the concrete one was in use in 64-65, but I don't even know where that one was located. It could have been on the same spot as the quonset hut. Anyway, this scenery will have the quonset hut terminal. Here it is: Here is the mats terminal at Guam. At least its not a peeling war torn building like at Naha. Now here is the place to be, the Guam MATS service club, a nice pool, some cold beers...warm tropical breezes.... There are more photos of Guam base/airport in 1963 and 1964 here at this site: www.vw1association.com/basephotos.htmlHere is what I found for photos of Naha air base in 1966 to 1967: www.svsarah.com/Non-Sailing/ewOkinawaNahaAB.htmenjoy, Mike
