Although the Super Connie is available here, its for FS2002 but there is an udpate for FS2004, will there be a better plane (more detailed, etc...) for FS2K4 and FSX (ie, same standards as the Connie and Starliner available here)?

Hi,
There is the Alphasim payware Super Connie, which got mixed reviews here in a previous thread. I don't know what was ever decided about it.
I haven't heard of another one coming...

Is there any chance that a modern FDE could be developed to go with the AS EC/RC-121s?

You could modify the L-049. Put the tail surfaces a little farther back, increase the weights and engine power, add reverse thrust, and change the contact points and lights to match the model and you should have it pretty close.
Hope this helps,

Was that for me? (The fact that I even ask indicates how uncertain I'd be of actually doing the job. Blind fumbling in the dark is the most accurate way to describe it.)

Hi, Yes, that was for you and yes, you would need to know what you are doing.

Yeah, I don't. Right now, I'm at my operational limit swapping whole texture files from one aircraft to another, while trying to alias things.
Train Simulator that ain't!

Still, I'd like to see a freeware super connie for FS9 and FSX even though there is a payware one so peeps who ain't got the money can still enjoy flying a nice plane. Maybe the makers of either the L-049 or the Starliner could make one.

Commander,
The designer of the L-049 passed away about two years back, a great loss to the propliner community. Alot of folks would love to have a new L-1049G for Fs9. AlphaSim's version (payware) is ok, but I prefer their military version. The FDE is not the best and I find that the engines were modeled a little small. Mike Stones model has served me well with the correct panel and FDE.

Ok, I'm sorry to hear this. Perhaps the Starliner makers could make the Super instead.

Hi! There's another L-1049G! It's payware of a different nature. It is mainly a donation to the Super Constellation Flyers Association. The model is the SCFA L-1049G Breitliing Constellation and it is available here: www.superconstellation.org/It is on the Aircraft menu at the top, just scroll down to FS2004. From what I know, the panel is mostly complete, the VC is partly made. The sounds made for that aircraft are the ones I use with the Starliner. They were actually donated to the Project Starliner by its creator, Friedrich Trachsel. I don't know of its staus as it was an ongoing project, and would like to hear from them! Soft landings!

Thax for the link though I still firmly hope for a freeware Super probably from the Starliners's makers.

I believe Aeroplane Heaven are working on a payware Connie, but from all I've read on their site, it's FS10 only. Also, one of the updates on their site mentioned it being powered by Pratt & Whitney engines, which is a bit of a worry from a research and accurracy perspective. Cheers, Mike.

Ok. Freeware would still be great though.

I believe Aeroplane Heaven are working on a payware Connie, but from all I've read on their site, it's FS10 only. Well, here's hoping they realize the error of their ways, on both points! That being said, I'm happy to see a B-17G under development, but not so pleased to see a competitor to David Maltby's Comets.
