Perhaps a delivery flight to its new owner?

Maybe they were ferrying that ship to the junk yard.
One of my last trips as Co-Pilot on the DC-6 was a ferry flight from Denver to Tracy, CA. That was United's junk yard for their DC-6s. Sad days.

I'm using the American texture on my 240. If you scratched the paint job on Mohawk's 240s, you might find a touch of American's orange peel. Mohawk's Convairs included ex-American, ex-Northeast, ex-Ozark, etc. The only non-hand-me-downs in Mohawks' Convair fleet were a couple of 440s they bought new from Convair.
Please let me know where can I find that Mohawk texture for the 240. Thanks.

Just downloaded and installed the Mohawk 440. Beautiful sim! Copied the CV-240 sound into the 440, and it's like being there.

Hi, I was just reading that these 440ies were bought NEW ;D by Mohawk and 18 months or so later when Mohawk was taken over by Allegheny, it seems as if these aircraft were not taken on with the others, so it is arriving at Ontario where it's new owner, puffing a big cigar and patting the rump of his newest stewardess, wait to see the landing. The tragedy of Mohawk's end is this, taken from the US Airways Heritage pages --Bob Peach who had been the key person in building and running Mohawk for more than 27 years could not bear to watch his airline disappear. He walked out of the boardroom before the Mohawk Board of Directors took the final vote. He resigned one week later, and less than two weeks after that he would end his own life.-- Andy.
