Howdy Ya’ll I apologize, I didn’t mean to just disappear, it has been a strange year so far. Between scraping together work (I’ve been unemployed since October 2009) and 3 family deaths in six months I’ve been preoccupied. On the bright side, on Monday, September 20th 2010 I will officially become the oldest freshman in the Drexel University College of Engineering class of 2015. Go Dragons! The 367/377 update is still in progress. The VC wasn’t working out to my satisfaction, so I spent 10+ hours on 52-2718 and 53-0335 measuring, photographing and sketching in an effort to capture the feel of the greenhouse. My goal isn’t bolt for bolt accuracy, but representing the Stratocruiser / Stratofreighter / Stratotanker personality is #1 on my list. It’s finally coming back together nicely, I’m finishing up work on the windows now. The panel skins are 95% complete also. In the end, most of the VC and exterior will end up being re-mapped for textures. I’m hoping to have a set of masters off to the paint masters in the next few months, depending on school. The learning curve for XML coding is pretty steep, and so far it is working out very slowly. Tom and the guys from Team Constellation have been awesome and very generously with their help, I’m still trying to decipher everything. I’m trying to model the electrical system in a sim-friendly but significant method. Once the initial release is finished, the other models will be easy. The new FD seems awesome! I will definitely be seeking permission to use them with this package. Once again, I apologize for the delay, my real life keeps getting in the way of my simulating! --Dan

Hi Dan,
Sorry to hear about your problems, but I'm glad that things are coming together for you again - good luck on your classes! It always puts FS stuff into perspective.
Glad to hear the Strat project is also progressing - sounds great.
If I haven't already, I can send you my XML file with quite a few propliner-related entries already in there. Just send me an email.
Hope this helps,

Dan, we are never too old to learn. Congrats on being the elder statesman, err, make that elder engineer at Drexel.
At age 87 I have taken up piano lessons and I'm having a ball. I always did want a piano so I bought one and I'm now getting checked out on it.
Good luck with the Stratoliners. 92607 is getting pretty much worn out and I'm ready to sell it to Transocean Airlines if they will buy it. ;D Will be ready to start flying your birds. Jesse

Tom, I have been flying this panel for a while and it is the first 3d panel I feel comfortable with. I fly with the engineer’s panel up on the 2D panel and go back and forth using “S” (two buttons on my yoke). I made a couple of changes on the panels. I added a stopwatch on both 2D and 3D panels. I used the DCA analog watch. I also moved the note book, operating icons and the feather switches on the 3D panel, down close to the fuel gages so they can be seen past the yoke. So far these have been the only problems I have found. I have read the history and operating instructions you put here in the forum once. I plan and have started to read them again. There is a lot of info in them. Thanks very much for the panel and instructions. Bob Bgan005

Hi, I am flying the 377 a lot and I enjoy it very much, I use the 3D panel as it is, it was quite a bit of work to go through the History and then the tutorial, but it sure was worth the effort. A big thank you for everyone involved in the development of this fantastic bird!! Peter

I just did a good landing at KBOS on rwy 27 on manual flying. It was with no bounce. I think it was because of not using stage 4 flaps. I followed the instructions as best as I could. Every thing worked OK per the instructions. It looks like no more FS ATC controlled descents, too fast. If necessary, I can fly IFR on downwind to landing under ATC control.
In the last 3 months, I have helped my daughter move, I then moved myself from NM back to OH. I was living in my camper until I found the place I just moved into. I have also had 4 computer problems, one with my brand new laptop with windows 7 on it. Lost a video card. Now have 2 new laptops with 7 and payments for both! Also my air card got broken by my furry friend. I also cannot get Golden Wings to start up on 7. I hope things have settled down so I can fly!
