L-Bird The Little Plane That Did
I just received word from the International Liason Pilot's Association of which I am a life member, that on November 10, 11, and 12 in honor of veteran's day, the Discovery Channel Military section will be showing a 45 minute DVD narrated by Pilot/Actor Cliff Robertson. The exact time of day has not yet been made, but if you keep checking the schedules on those dates, you should be able to come up with it.
A large number of WWII pilots got their start as Flying Sergeants flying the Liaison Aircraft, Piper L-4, Taylorcraft L-2, Stinson L-5 and Interstate Cadet L-6. Post war birds were the Cessna Birddog L-19 and the Navion L-17. Some of the more noteable Liaison Pilots were Gene Autry (T/Sgt) and Chuck Yeager (S/Sgt) and of course myself. Not so noteable.

Thanks. I had a balsa rubber band model of the L-19.

Jesse, you're plenty notable. I'll be looking out for that show when it comes on.
