The wx in Hawaii is almost always good and the legs, at most, barely exceeded an hour and a half. Remember that they were upgrading from the DC-3. The competition between Aloha and Hawaiian was always spirited and everyone shaved every expense they could to scape together a small profit. Aloha took the lead with the Fairchilds (and later added Viscounts for one of the nations first all turbine fleets) against Hawaiian's Convairs and DC-3s for a few years. Hawaiian then fought back by converting the Convairs to 600s (with RR Darts- why can't someone finally do a 600?). Aloha then upgraded to the BAC 111 and Hawaiian bought DC-9-10s. It was pretty much back and forth then until deregulation and Hawaiian managed to break free of the Islands and offer Mainland flights using bigger equipment. By the way, today is the third anniversary of Aloha's final flight.

Hi guys, I found a small conflict in the autopilot processing code which only renders itself in APPR mode. Hopefully this is the root of the problem Here is a replacement cab file; drop it in the main FS9 gauges folder. cab updateThe autopilot and flight system are straight out of the Ozark manual, I appreciate different operators may have had differing systems. Unfortunately I don't have operating figures for Dart 6 engined F-27/F-27Bs nor have I seen any photos of their cockpits cheers Fraser

Hello Fraser, The AP approach mode is now functioning correctly although the capture seems pretty sensitive and abrupt. However, now the nav/loc mode is in-operative. In the attached screen shot, nav/loc selected, shown engaged on the annuciator, command bar shows the proper intercept command (left turn) but the acft stays resolutely wings level. The solution at the moment is to return to the "heading"mode, manually capture the course and then select "approach" which seems to do the trick. Otherwise, all seems to be working well as shown in this second shot at T/D at SFO. Hy

Thanks for that Hy, In this business you fix one thing and break something else! I've updated the replacement cab file so all should be well now. I've checked it and it flew both an ILS approach and a VOR radial. Cab Updatecheers Fraser

Thanks Fraser, that seemed to do the trick. Funny how one little change leads to another and .. Oh well, I'm off to fly.
Are you going to do the Fokkers now as well? I do fly them as well when I'm exploring other parts of the world.
Thanks again for your many great contributions to the FS world!

The Fokker panel is in development alongside the Fairchild so hopefully both will be released together.
I've found what I need for Dart 6 engines so I'm programming the panel to sense which is required for each model, not as difficult as I'd anticipated thankfully.
EDIT
Don't suppose anyone has a link to a Dart 6 powered F-27 cockpit photo? I'm having to guess the layout of the prop lights as there is no cruise lock on the Dart 6 propeller.
cheers

Hi Guys,
The finished V6 panels, both Fairchild and Fokker versions, should be up at flightsim.com tonight or tomorrow. Thank you all for your input; the niggles are fixed and I'd suggest starting with a fresh download as the file hierarchy has changed in order to acommodate F-27 and F-27B aircraft with Dart 6 engines. A few other minor alterations have been made and a slight adjustment to the drag at flight idle.
cheers
Fraser

Hello all......another great panel! In keeping with the inherent requirement to operate this one by the book/checklist...is there a way to get the No. 2 ADF ident to work?
Thanks Ross

Whoops! So I took the F-27 for a flight today and upon landing I zeroed out the throttles and playing around I pressed f2 to see if anything would happen. I don't think Fokkers had beta. My plane instantly stopped and stood on its tail!. MSFS then crashed... Isolated bug or did I miss something in the manual/threads about this? Best regards, Drew

Yep...don't press F2, they didn't have reverse
if you do you get what you had....but leave the F2 alone and all will be well ;D
