Hi, ....in the panel cfgs seem sometimes to be random, but are not I think, but what do they mean ? ..... Sometimes when I add gauges or move things about I get stymied by not having a clue how these are worked out!! Andy.

Hi,
They should be all numbered sequentially. Gaps in the gauge numbering doesn't seem to cause problems, but gaps in the Windows numbering most certainly does.
Anything with a // in front of it is not read.
Hope this helps,

Tom, I'm thinking he's talking about the "Ident=" in the window entries.

He was talking about moving gauges - Ident numbers have nothing to do with that. So I assumed he meant general numbering. But you have a good point.
Ident numbers only need to be unique within a given panel. Keep in mind that certain gauges (i.e. icons) use the Ident number to load or unload subpanels, so changing these willy nilly is usually not a good idea.
Hope this helps,

Hi,
Yes, I was asking about the numbers in the window section of a panel cfg!
If I wanted to make a pop-up window I was caught out by the strangeness of the numbers in the ident section....I could never work out how those numbers were chosen, or how they were necessary, and why any old number that I might use never worked !!
Now I think I understand from what Tom wrote, that those numbers are coded in the gauge as identification of that gauge.
Dim light glowing in the darkness.
thanks for your info.
Andy.
