Thanks for the interesting links Adrian. I lived in Nairobi from 1973 through 1975 and loved every minute of it, somewhat after your posts indicate. Unfortunately I was there when Lufthansa dropped a 747 on takeoff - they didn't have the leading edge flaps deployed. Kenya was one of my most favorite foreign Service Assignments.

Forgot to mention that during that time one of my friends renewed his pilots license at the Nairobi Aero Club. We flew to a number of places in an Cessna-172. A lot of beautiful scenery and wildlife we saw!

Sorry about all the add-on posts Adrian, but you really got my mind going on this one. Remember Brenners Hotel? Used to have lunch there quite often - best place in town. Unfortunately, it burnt down sometime back. talk about the end of an erra!
