It does sit just a bit high, and there is somthing not quite right about the underside of the nose. If it's going to be payware, then where are the static discharge wicks? I don't see any.

..agree on the "high sit". But beware these are pre-views, the final output may be different/more detailed. I am still on FS9, but when they keep on rolling out jewels like this.... cheers to all. Paul

I know I would not waste my money for either the Just Flight or PMDG models, even if they were available for FS9. With the improvements that Tom has been making recently for all the DC6 and DC7 models they do get "as real as it can be" for my limited abilities and computer. Your efforts Tom and all involved are much appreciated!!!!!!!
With all of the negative press that FSX seems to get, I have never understood why modelers continue to support that format and neglect FS9 and the hobbyist like myself who have tried FSX and thrown it away.

Hi Paul! unfortunately that's the way payware developers work...I have seen 2 types of them.... 1.- the ones who develop for "current" and "popular" platforms, i.e. FS9.. to generate immediate money income, eventually those files have a limited lifecycle as payware, because eventually, people will update their system, and files will be released as freeware in a couple of years. 2.- the others who look ahead and develop for the advanced platforms i.e. FSX ..although they realize that just a limited group has FSX and the income will be limited, they know that in a couple of years more people will be updating to FSX...that gives them a chance to maintain the product available for a couple of years. ------Business is business, and (unfortunately) that's the way it works Of course, it may be always a controversy about payware vs freeware...but all depends on people's taste......

Thanks. While FSX gets some negative press, especially in forums like this one where most of us still use FS9, if you follow the FSX forums you will find many happy people.

I use both fs9 and fsx I find fs9 better for multi engined aircraft with complicated system's and multi player but the graphics are better more realistic in fsx though some multi engined aircraft hit the frame rate's so low and slow is good for fsx but if you like to keep your head in the flight engineer's panel fs9 is best for that , all of Tom's aircraft are great and unmatched in flight dynamics realism

My thanks goes out to Tom and others who have developed the Cal Classics DC-6's to what we have on offer today. ;D The model and panel improvements and flight handling makes these a delight and challenge to fly correctly. And all for free. Thanks. ;D ;D Pete.

Let's let this offering be out there awhile. The CalClas DC's work great...and are free.
There are so many great textures for the CC's DC's.
Tom's decision to suggest moving comments to a separate discusion thread is Good. I can only recommend that every one read that thread.

I think he means the *post in this thread* where I suggest that off topic remarks be moved to the Chat forum.

The only thing I noticed is that it seems to sit a bit high on its landing gear? That and the props look a bit too "small"... Other than that, it looks great. I'm still on the fence about getting an FSX setup going just to play around with some of this new-fangled payware.
