Thanks, Cap!
On a related note, does anyone know what happened to all the retired (static display) aircraft that used to be at Harlingen CAF (Rebel Field)? I remember from visiting there as a young teen, I wandered around and looked at those almost as much as I did the flying WWII aircraft.

Most of them were moved to Midland, but some were so rotted out that they were scrapped on site. I don't remember specifically which was which. Sadly, several more hulks have been scrapped since the move to Midland, but several others have found new homes, like the Douglas Dragon that is now up in the Northeast.

Chris, thanks for the post on the Hall of Fame entries. The only one that I knew was thingy Disney. When I was with the 3610th Navigator Training Wing in Harlingen, thingy and some of the other old timers would come over from Mission to do some scrounging at the base salvage yard. Most of the old timers that I knew have already Gone West. I just turned 89 on 31 January and I was still a kid to some of them.

Jesse, thanks for the reply. I love the way the auto corrector works on this forum. That's why I put "thingy" in quotes, because I knew it'd change it to "thingy".

I don't mind a thingy once in awhile. I usually skip a space between D ick and it comes out okay.

Chris....on another note. I've lost your Carrollton address. I have a CAF book that I bought in 1980 and I would like to pass it on to you. My Girls said they did not want it. PM me with your address.
